Gajim - 2025-10-10

there has long been one thing that annoys me a lot about xmpp: syncing of chat read states. messages are synced yes, but not necessarily read states. but for some reason, i have this vague memory of gajim including support for some experimental standard to sync read states? is this correct, or am i hallucinating (or maybe it's another client)?

i remember conversations doing that too, and still somehow the read states aren't synced for me at all.

yesss i am testing it between gajim and monocles (conversations fork, which i _assume_ supports XEP-0490? guess i should ask)

looks like it works. at least when reading messages on gajim (i.e. clicking into a chat/convo)

Is it possible to get an older gajim version on flatpak, since latest breaks x11 drag and drop and it's not going to be fixed?

Hey, guys! I'm looking for support. My Gajim on Fedora Linux isn't loading voice messages properly. There's something that I can do to fix it?

It's taking a lot of time to loading the message within the app, even with the message already downloaded.

Other files such as images work? The next version will have some changes regarding previews, so maybe it's fixed in master.

The point is that the voice message was downloaded, I can click and listen to it in a external audio/music player

Guys, the problem was version. I did a rollback to Gajim 2.3.4 and it's working fine!
