Hello, I have had problems with gajim not working in suckless dwm in debian. It is as the keyring manager will not launch and for whatever reason gajim refuses to work even after I enter my account password into gajim.
-
esus
It will just be stuck on "connecting".
-

I works in dwm now after I launched it and logged on in lxqt.
-
esus
I told it to remember my password.

Be aware I am using the latest version in the deban trixie repo which is 2.1.1
-
ivan
The latest version seems to be available but there is no news article announcing it on the website.

ivan: an article will follow soon-ish

lovetox, with SFS support do you plan to add multiattachment in a single message? I remember you were against the idea of the example where the sources arrive later than the "multiattachment message", but what if sources are (also) in the first message?
-
lovetox
yes i find it complex, but after thinking about it, it is the only way to stay backwards compatible
-
lovetox
my current draft supports the XEP also with multi source messages
-
nicoco
oh ok.
-
nicoco
I was thinking I'll probably implement "all sources in the first message" then "following messages with sources too" just to be compatible with gajim✎ -

I was thinking I'll probably implement "all sources in the first message" then "following (fallback) messages with sources too" just to be compatible with gajim ✏
-
lovetox
as gajim does not implement yet anything i would not assume we will implement it in a certain way
-
lovetox
implement it, and decide after gajim implements it
-
nicoco
hehe OK, I don't think I want to take the lead on this this will be the other way around.
-
nicoco
I was initially excited by multiattachment messages as I though it would mean dropping *a lot* of complexity in slidge, but this will probably just add more as I want it to be backwards compatible anyway xD
-
lovetox
but dino supports it
-
nicoco
dino already does? really?
-
lovetox
soo you can look alrady at impl
-
lovetox
also kaidan
-
nicoco
multiattachment in a single message, or just SFS?
-
lovetox
.. yeah maybe they dont
-
lovetox
i just tested with one file
-
lovetox
but would they not need to support it receiving wise?
-
lovetox
they probably send out only one file
-
lovetox
but maybe they support receiving multiple
-
nicoco
I will have a look you managed to tickle my curiosity now
👍 1 -
lovetox
nicoco, but Gajim will definitly support receiving multiple <filesharing> elements in one message
-
lovetox
it also depends what we count as backwards compatible
-
lovetox
you can simply put multiple links into the body, this would still count for me as backwards compatible, other clients can click the links
