  4. tom

I had set it to tor before to get online

  5. Purplebored

Hi, I recently updated my gajim to the newest version in hopes that it will fix my PGP plugin sadly it did not. I am using the flatpak version of gajim

  7. Purplebored

I don't know why it dosen't work before it used to work but then I updated to 2.x then downgraded back to 1.9.5 and it stopped working then

  9. Purplebored

    > Will look into it l, there was some problem with the dep Alright amazing <3

    > Will look into it l, there was some problem with the dep the issue might be fixed by https://dev.gajim.org/gajim/gajim-plugins/-/commit/c3f8fc41e282d78e87208f0ff4ba6b134022a70a

  11. lovetox

    Thanks hannibal

  12. 232

Using 2.1.1 From sid and accounts icon bottom left only shows one account, it used to show all accounts, clicking on it shows others but there seems to be no way to reorder the accounts so the icon is currently showing an account that is disabled and not the one in current use.

  13. lovetox

hannibal, seems to fail still https://github.com/flathub-infra/vorarbeiter/actions/runs/18009852729/job/51239339486

  14. lovetox

but seems not gajim related i think

  15. lovetox

232, you can upgrade to 2.3.x

  16. lovetox

we changed a lot about the display

  17. lovetox

ah i think i know what the error is

  18. lovetox

Purplebored, please try in a few hours, i pushed a update

  19. Purplebored

    > Purplebored, please try in a few hours, i pushed a update Amazing <3

  20. hannibal

lovetox, you also have to update the runtime version for the gajim package

  21. 232

    > 232, you can upgrade to 2.3.x No stuck with 2.1.1 until nightlys start again,

  22. lovetox

    Debian nightly?

  23. lovetox

    debian nightly should work fine

  24. Артëм

When will it be possible to make calls via Gajim?

  25. cal0pteryx

Артëм: it's not planned at the moment

  26. Anon Ymous

Is a gallery in Chat Details planned? It's quite a challenge to find an attachment among 80.000 items in the Downloads folder πŸ˜…

  27. lovetox

    yes

  28. lovetox

and also we will probably create a folder tree structure, where you can browse domain -> user -> files

  29. Anon Ymous

Hmz, that would cause a lot of duplicate files when stuff is sent from/to multiple contacts...

  30. Anon Ymous

    Maybe optional?

  31. lovetox

That folder structure would be for files you receive from contacts

  32. lovetox

i assume you dont receive the same file from multiple contacts often

  33. 232

    > debian nightly should work fine gajim-nightly : Depends: python3-gi (>= 3.52.0) but 3.50.0-7 is to be installed Depends: python3-nbxmpp-nightly (>= 20250625) but it is not going to be installed Recommends: gir1.2-gupnpigd-1.0 but it is not installable

  34. Anon Ymous

    > i assume you dont receive the same file from multiple contacts often Many people forward attachments to other contacts/groups

  35. lovetox

232, hm true, i didnt think pygobject 3.52 is not in unstable

  36. lovetox

    it is in experimental though

  37. lovetox

    > Many people forward attachments to other contacts/groups hm maybe we do a folder structure by date then

  38. 232

    > 232, hm true, i didnt think pygobject 3.52 is not in unstable Yes I know I thought it would have been in sid by now. I will just wait, after a new stable release there is always a lot going on.

  39. Anon Ymous

By the way, the performance enhancements for Windows in 2.3.5 are a bit counterproductive, it seems: it now takes 10 whole seconds for the window to show up πŸ˜… I keep getting confused whether the double-click actually registered πŸ˜•

  40. lovetox

    double click?

  41. lovetox

    which window?

  42. chud

I think he means the click to launch the program. Same here btw. Not 10 seconds but enough to think I didn't actually click and click again..

  43. lovetox

i dont see how the change would affect this, we changed that python files are not pre compiled, so they compile on the very first start, but afterwards they are cached on the disk and its effectively the same situation as before

  44. lovetox

but yes, startup times on windows were always slow

  45. chud

maybe some lib got more bloated

  46. lovetox

can always be the case, as we use newest libs on every windows build, its enough if one of the developers of the 20+ dependencies introduces some slow code on import time

  47. lovetox

of course i would like to have it blazing fast starting, but how much time would i have to invest to maybe shave of 2-3 seconds from the start up time, rather invest the time into something that brings more value

    πŸ‘ 1
  48. lovetox

on linux it takes 3 seconds for to show the Gajim window

  49. lovetox

    fast enough for me

  50. cal0pteryx

    > i dont see how the change would affect this, we changed that python files are not pre compiled, so they compile on the very first start, but afterwards they are cached on the disk and its effectively the same situation as before It's actually way faster in general when e.g. switching chats. More responsive.

  51. lovetox

yes, thats why we did the change, but does not change the fact that i dont understand why this is the case

  52. Anon Ymous

Okay, so seeing as I don't like splash screens, I'm not going to suggest that πŸ˜› I guess I'll get AutoHotkey to get me some feedback that launching is in progress πŸ‘
