(froze opening the about window too lol)

  5. hau

    downgrading nvidia fixed it

  6. hau

    classic

  7. Marc

    > Yes Gajim does not support channel binding Do you plan to add channel binding support ?

  8. Eduard T

    > downgrading nvidia fixed it Latest nvidia is working perfectly here (and previuous versions as well)

  9. Eduard T

Sounds like a packaging issue on your system. Also, note that on each nvidia update you have to run `flatpak update` so that the flatpak nvidia libraries match the system ones

  10. Eduard T

Otherwise you are going to have trouble on many apps

  11. hau

    > Sounds like a packaging issue on your system. Also, note that on each nvidia update you have to run `flatpak update` so that the flatpak nvidia libraries match the system ones flatpak was updated we checked tht first

  12. hau

idk ab the rest cc gyatt

  13. gyatt

yeah downgrading to nvidia 570 open fixed it

  14. Omni rizzler

is their a way to remove this blue box everytime i log in i see it and its annoying ?

  15. lovetox

    Omni rizzler: blue box?

  16. lovetox

Marc: there is a bug in pygobject that prevents us from using it

    > Omni rizzler: blue box? this

  19. lovetox

    That's the groupchat subject

  20. lovetox

Check prefernces I think you can disable it

  21. Neustradamus

lovetox: There is a ticket about pygobject bug?

  22. lovetox

    https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/pygobject/-/issues/603

  23. Neustradamus

lovetox: Thanks, I had forgotten this one!

  24. Anon Ymous

    Why can't I change the window background via a theme file, e.g. ``` :root { --view-bg-color: rgb(240, 240, 220) !important; } ``` or alternatively ``` .mainwindow-grid { background: rgb(240, 240, 220) !important; } .chatlist-row, .search-view, .file-transfer, .preview-stack > box { background-color: rgb(240, 240, 220) !important; } ```

  25. alexkurisu

Because `libadwaita` apps are specifically made to be unthemeable

  26. cal0pteryx

alexkurisu: Gajim uses plenty of CSS to style its UI. If you write your own CSS, you can do many things

  27. alexkurisu

Internally, yes, but external themes purposefully broken

  28. cal0pteryx

    > Because `libadwaita` apps are specifically made to be unthemeable That's not an answer to why these CSS rules don't work though. Did you try them using GTK inspector, Anon Ymous ? I think `important` flags don't work in GTK's CSS

  29. vlad

    > downgrading nvidia fixed it this was one of the rare cases with nvidia involved, where i actually thought for a moment that it isn't nvidia's fault

  30. vlad

    > it is a bit weird to define dev dependencies as an "extra" I think, but gajim is not published to PyPI and there is no standard way of defining "dev dependencies" anyway, so this works I guess i wold stay very far away from pypi, half of the things there are malware, the other half is broken, its very messy, and pip can't even search packages

  31. vlad

""searching for packages is deprecated, go blindly install things or open a web browser"

  32. vlad

""searching for packages is deprecated, go blindly install things or open a web browser""

  33. vlad

    who could be this deranged?

  34. vlad

also some people like putting the entire text of a license into the license identifier for some reason

I use a tiling window manager so resizing is inherent. This was never a problem with gtk2 or qt.

I'll probably get banned for saying that as soon as a admin sees it, but it's truly terrifying the active and willful destruction of the linux desktop over the last 15 years. Along with the hubris to call anyone who thinks differently from the nu gnome way of thinking is just dumb gnome knows what's best.

My computer is less functional that it was in 2004.
