Was the chat downloaded before the server stopped operating?

Otherwise there's no way to find a specific chat content as it can't be retrieved from any source

You can still find the contact and try to open a chat with it tho

Neustradamus, you can find all infos in the chat with "Note to myself" click the contact info button then "Devices"

i just tested with you Neustradamus, my tab is named "neustradamus"

we do this (domain.org) thing only for PMs in a groupchat

so the jid you see is probably the groupchat, and the name before that is the nickname of the user

of course in some weird circumstances you could see 2 of your devices as separate users in the same MUC

so i would not consider this a Gajim bug yet, i would check if this happens also in other MUCs, this could also be a problem with this specific muc

you can find chats of contacts in your contactlist

it does not matter if the server of the contact is online or not

only if the contact is in your contact list

if you cant find them in the start chat dialog, it seems they are not anymore in your contactlist

you can still try the search CTRL + F

and search for some conversation you remember, maybe it shows up

I see, Conversations still does not support GIFs nor animated webp, but Cheogram does.

I don't get any thumbnail of images in file picker UI -- is this works-as-intended, something that could change, a mistake of mine, or ???

tef, what system are you on? my file picker is the file explorer of my system, so it shows images if the system filepicker supports that

this is archlinux

hasn't been different on other hosts

other programs (e.g. firefox) show the image preview just fine. I don't have a DE

not sure of other relevant info, really

believe both should be using the GTK filepicker?
