Hi, does anyone here have experience troubleshooting Gajim login issues? :)
-
warrior
I downloaded Gajim after setting up a Jabber ID and password on Cheogram android. When I attempt to log into Gajim on desktop with those credentials I receive an error message exclaiming "The response provided by the client does not match the one we calculated". Can anyone provide a clue as to the cause of the authentication error? Thanks so much in advance

Means normally the password is wrong

Do you have none ASCII chars in your password?

> Do you have none ASCII chars in your password? Hi the password uses only standard ASCII characters. Could it be that manual config is needed? ↺

I have no idea what sip credentials are
-

SIP credentials are like a username and password that let you use a phone number over the internet (VoIP — Voice over IP). They’re used to log into apps like Jitsi, Linphone, or Zoiper, so you can make and receive calls using a VoIP provider. Here’s what SIP credentials usually include: SIP username: Like a phone number or ID. Password: For authentication. Server (or domain): The address of the phone service provider’s server (e.g., sip.example.com). Port: Sometimes required, like 5060 or 5008.

nekosayako. I did not find your XMPP address at https://fortintam.com/en/contact May I send to you a private message?

warrior, you may also want to try using another XMPP client just for voice calls, such as Dino.

> warrior, you may also want to try using another XMPP client just for voice calls, such as Dino. Does Dino have a dial pad? The reason I opted for linophone and zoiper is because was because those platforms supposedly contained that feature.✎ ↺ -

nice to see gajim has some sort of muting mechanism now. but fyi, messages from muted people still show up in the chat list
-
lovetox
Muting means no notification
-
lovetox
Or do you mean blocking them in a groupchat?
-
black_mamba
blocking in a groupchat, yes
-
black_mamba
i call it muting, to not confuse it with use of the blocklist
-
black_mamba
which apparently, it is completely separate to
-
lovetox
From a protocol view yes
-
lovetox
But from a user view both is blocking
-
black_mamba
so yes, point is, despite being blocked (by gajim mechanism, not blocklist), the messages show up in the chat list
-
lovetox
Yes that's an oversigt
-
lovetox
Could you please create a issue on the tracker
-
black_mamba
It won't be very elaborate, but sure
