Gajim - 2025-07-28

Hi, does anyone here have experience troubleshooting Gajim login issues? :)

I downloaded Gajim after setting up a Jabber ID and password on Cheogram android. When I attempt to log into Gajim on desktop with those credentials I receive an error message exclaiming "The response provided by the client does not match the one we calculated". Can anyone provide a clue as to the cause of the authentication error? Thanks so much in advance

Has anyone here successfully logged into a SIP client using their SIP credentials from Cheogram? I'm having login issues with this as well. I've tried logging into both Jitsi Desktop and Linophone with my SIP credentials, but to no avail. ✏

I don’t actually know, and their MUC is currently offline.

nice to see gajim has some sort of muting mechanism now. but fyi, messages from muted people still show up in the chat list

Muting means no notification

Or do you mean blocking them in a groupchat?

blocking in a groupchat, yes

i call it muting, to not confuse it with use of the blocklist

But from a user view both is blocking

so yes, point is, despite being blocked (by gajim mechanism, not blocklist), the messages show up in the chat list
