you can use either omemo or set up PGP

keb: it may also be useful to enable OMEMO by default in the account settings, if you so wish

I tried the same (Execute command ...) on different rooms (that I created for testing) on a few different servers and no commands available there either ✏

okko, did you try commands on your account itself? I'm not sure which interface this prosody module opens

Oh well I can't figure out how to execute commands on myself but I when I try the "Execute command" on another user (on the same server) it says feature-not-implemented (or not implemented by recipient or server.. if I try it on some members in different servers)

okko: should be available on your account page (click your avatar in the bottom left)

But that's just a guess, maybe these aren't available on your account

Okay yea I found it but the only command there was getting server uptime

no command available means most likely your server has hats disabled or not configured

Yes, of course the server has to support hats in the first place. I thought that was already made sure of

When I try to send a message to an encrypted room, I see "To send an encrypted message, you have to first trust the fingerprint of your contact!" How do I do this?

i think there is a misunderstanding, you cannot right click yourself, because there is no action there that makes sense

in every chat, you have in the top right, a "more .." menubutton

there you can execute a command, if the command you search is not there, then the server doesnt offer that command

hence if you want the server to offer that command, you would need to configure it, if you dont know how, you would need to ask in a server support channel ✏

i agree that the admin part of managing hats for users is not very well integrated in Gajim currently, Adhoc commands are kind of an expert feature hard to discover

there is no profile, its a groupchat, you dont have a groupchat profile

there is a profile for your account, which you can access by clicking your account avatar in bottom left

chaning nick, could be an option there, but its kind of slow to open the roster, search your nick, click a menu to change your nick, thats why we have this option also in the top menu
