Hi, destroying a MUC is pretty hidden imo, and not visible enough as a dangerous operation. It’s currently a tiny trash icon in the Manage tab of Chat Details and Settings, whereas a longer “Destroy Group Chat” label in a red button would make more sense to me to carry the meaning of that operation.

I can see peoples hats (XEP-0317) in MUCs quite well but I can't find how to create or assign Hats to members. Does gajim support that? I tried /help but it didn't list anything about them there either

okko, assuming you have this module installed https://modules.prosody.im/mod_muc_hats_adhoc.html you can set hats using an adhoc command
