could be your server which is very slow, or your device, or the groupchat servers

if the problem is, that they arrive late, instead of at all

I notice that Gajim has no menu bar. Is it possible to refer to dialog Service Discovery or roster manager?

click the profile/account button, there is a menu button there

I would want to re-move the button "Invite to this chat" to the top row, and, if desired, to make it functional for private (1 on 1) chat.

Schimon, i think improving the groupchat creation process is certainly something we should consider, i just today i thought that it would be great if the creation dialog already lets you specify some users to invite

so pressing the button in a single chat, could just open the creation dialog, and automatically add the user from the single chat, and you can then add more

there is a special MUC feature, that tackles this use case

i have to look into it, i think you could make the server invite the people instead of doing it yourself

cal0pteryx I build gtk4 with debug symbols but can't get any stacktrace when running Gajim, how do you get the trace in the issue please? Maybe I'm missing something in my env

you need to run gajim in gdb

type `gdb python`

then inside gdb

`run launch.py`

when it crashes, and you are back in the console type `bt`

this might be somewhere, but i just cant find it for the life of me. for some reason, im not able to use the "Note to myself" feature with OMEMO, (i havent tried talking to someone else yet with OMEMO, but i dont think that works either) and i keep on getting the following error: No devices found to encrypt this message to. Querying for devices now…

im using 07f.de xmpp provider, so it has OMEMO support

im sorry if this is an easy question to answer, im newer to xmpp and omemo and stuff like that

The omemo encryption needs a second device

Otherwise you can send a note to self without omemo

fetchvector: you need to install plugins to enable pgp and openpgp. Moreover, they need some setup beforehand. (generating / importing a key pair)

but normally you have a smartphone client for xmpp

i mean where do you send the note to self otherwise?

normally i use note to self to transfer info from my desktop to my phone or the other way around, but if you dont have a smartphone or any device where you transfer these data to, why use Gajim as a note taking app?

you have a lot of other options on your desktop, if transfer of information to other devices is not your goal
