That probably is because users don't read the docs anyway...

... and a lot of work flows into an "intuitive" GUI that is not so intuitive to some ...

i just updated to version 2.3.1 for my daily instance, but still have elements not showing : - text input area border not visible - workspace selected not visible - vertical bar next to a citation not visible

You look at the config dialog, it should be obvious then

also with dark theme, number of unread messages on channel and workspaces don't have background anymore, so it's not readable

Hello, first of all, I would like to thank you for the great new version! I am thrilled. (And today is my birthday...) I have noticed some strange behavior in Gajim 2.3.1. on Windows 11. It seems that Gajim prevents a window underneath it from being brought to the foreground if Gajim was previously in the foreground. When you click on the title bar of the window underneath, nothing happens at first. Even if you click on the same spot on the title bar several times, nothing happens. Only when you move the mouse to another spot on the title bar does the other window come to the foreground. I've only noticed this with Gajim, not with any other program. Can anyone confirm this?

can someone else using Gajim 2.3.1 on Archlinux with i3 can confirm missing backgrounds mostly? I can't figure it out

I would suggest from the same channel you got your current installation

I used flatpak - but I don't know how it does an upgrade. the install command doesn't work a second time

If Gajim's title bar is close to the background window's titlebar (i.e. it's behind Gajim's window shadow + some space), the background window will not activate when clicking its title bar. as soon as there is some distance between Gajim's title bar and the background window's title bar, it works all the time. ↺

cal0pteryx, yes. I measured the distance, on my screen its about 70px. if the klick is closer to the gajim window, it doesn't come to the foreground, no matter how often you click. If the distance is bigger, it works every time.

np All in all, it's not a big deal. Once you know about it, you just click a little further...

Just noticed another thing - when you use the system tray icon and the function show/hide window, it only hides it, but doesn't show it again (windows 11, 2.3.1).

the taskbar icon works as expected.

only the menu option does not work? or also double clicking the icon?

double clicking only hides it too,

I have no idea why that is... again, it's just a cosmetic flaw.

ok i figure out all my issues, it was my fault of course: due to a GTK_THEME env variable i forgot in my environment running Gajim :D

the window border stuff we can fix with css in the next release

I take it all back... after rebooting, everything works! I mean showing/hiding the window.

Rebooting, the standard way of resolving issues on Windows :P

or most OS. Power cycle if reboot doesn't do it. :D
