Gajim - 2025-06-29

I've noticed that when using caja-sendto on debian 11 and gajim 1.7.3 that gajim doesn't actually show up in the list of destinations, has anyone else here run into this issue?

though they have code for Gajim

oh they use the remote interface

you need to activate that under Preferences -> Advanced -> Remote

we should offer some easy dbus command to accept a file

I toggled that option on and it's still not working... I wonder if there's something else I would need to do.

The signal `value_changed` works, should have tried this one first. Interestingly, when I click somewhere on the scrollbar, I get three values in a bunch: like starting from 0.0 -> 363 -> 12279 -> 52118 (final destination).

Maybe try with a other widget to see if the cause is your widget or it is like that

If you connect with notify::value it should still work

If not that is probably a bug

we connect notify::value in multiple locations in gajim, and a quick test shows this works fine

i also dont get 0 if i move the scrollbar, except it is at zero

GTK Version: 4.18.5

4.18.6 here, but in the gtk chat they (user Alice) told me that only value-changed or notify::value covers value changes

is it normal to don't "see" the text area anymore, because there is no border?

really strange, I was thinking it was my gtk theme but when I run Gajim with "GTK_THEME=Adwaita ./launch.py --user-profile dev" the result is the same, with no borders

but cal0pteryx also got this issue as i can see on the website screenshot?

the screnshots are probably done after the change, as the change was some minutes ago

ad-hoc command to the server, e.g. send info to all users, where did it move to in 2.3.0?

2.3.0 is uploaded to Debian experimental. Will not upload 2.3.1, because fixes are only relevant to Windows, correct?

btw, a friend ask me about Gajim: can we upload a media (a picture for example) with a text? because right now we can only send a picture and then a text message, but we can't upload a picture with some text with it
