This chat is english for multiple reasons.

Gajim the client is both english/german, plugins as well. The website is both english/german. This chat is english only (on purpose)

Ah so this was a misunderstanding

Such a plugin could be written, but it probably would depend on services which you need to pay for

lovetox: there are free models to run locally, but of course that means you require some computational power on your machine, depending on the model size

There's a free deepl plan with 500k chars/month, 50k words? one could use. But the plugin user would need to get an api key

But the model built-in into Firefox works quiet nicely, maybe it could be used in a plugin ✏

Hi. A friend is using Gajim on Windows. They were randomly logged out and upon logging back in they're appearing as a new device and can no longer access their encrypted messages. Any idea what could have caused this, so it can be avoided in the future? Thanks!

you get only a new device if you delete Gajim data on the harddrive

but maybe you misinterpret also what you are seeing

yeah sorry no idea, the only reason a key gets calculated new is when you delete the key on the harddrive

for example, you install gajim from the webpage, as portable

and later you install gajim from the windows store, then the windows store will get its data from somewhere else

They rebooted their laptop and now seem to be using the original "device" (I can tell by the "Last seen" times) and have access to their messages again, so all's good. ✏ ↺
