Andie, there is a dark mode setting. is it set to "System"?

I just didn't know its English name this bug happened on switching the dark mode from enable to disable

Andie, there have been multiple fixes around this over time. Maybe a newer version fixes this already. Important for switching to work is: Gajim's preference is set to "System", and your theme actually has a proper light/dark mode

cal0pteryx, have you checked out https://github.com/xapp-project/libadapta, it's a Linux MINT project based on libadwaita, which they describe as > libAdwaita with theme support and a few extra. Unfortunately I could not quickly figure out how to create or find the python module to try it out myself. ✏

mesonium: my experience with Linux Mint has been pretty bad, maintenance wise. So I wouldn't want do use anything based on Mint. Apart from that: With the change to GTK4 it became apparent that many themes for GTK4 are broken. So switching to libadwaita would fix this problem by simply giving a good default look, regardless of user/distro themes, which may or may not work.

I asked in the Debian Testing support channel. They asked for the output of `apt policy gajim-nightly`, which was - ``` gajim-nightly: Installed: 20250311-1 Candidate: 20250311-1 Version table: *** 20250311-1 100 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status ``` So according to them it's an issue with the Gajim Debian repository...
