I think it would make sense to hide Moderation and Retraction items in the context menu, when they are not available to clean things up

hi, devs! i recently updated my gajim to 2.1.1 and no longer see my contact list roster :(. could you please bring it back?

wladmis, you can find all chats if you click on the `+` -> `Start chat...` or Ctrl + N now.

mesonium, i know, but this use case does not work to me :(

what's your use case? what is missing? how is used to be your workflow?

i have a lot of contacts with several accs, very orginized and grouped by, em, groups. and some of contacts have similar names. the old roster with groups and contacts was much more convinient

wladmis, if you go to Accounts -> $user -> Advanced -> Manage Contact List, you can still assign contacts to some groups. In Start Chat you can filter for these groups

cal0pteryx, but it obviously makes no sense that I can retract the message of some one else or moderate if I'm not a mod

I'd hide it and wait until sufficiently many complain :P - but, yeah to fine to me if you disagree ✏

mesonium: yes sure, it has to make sense and be available at some point. Else it makes little sense, that's right

if I change my status to eg busy, it reads "busy (desynced)". What do I need to do to sync it across devices / applications, e.g. with Conversations?

The most sucky part is Mobile "held hostage" by Conversations and this piece of badly done code doesn't show statuses, while Gajim doesn't exist for Mobile (yet?).

Like kid you all not, we might have literal human-neurons-run affordable computers at home (not just a lab for US$35K and 6 months longevity) or be all wearing fancy light XR headsets with the camera arrays like a dragonfly (with stylish red glow) and not using Linux on Gajim anymore sooner than that thing happens. Gajim doesn't care on Mobile and neither do the bad devs of Conversations care about statuses.

This world is truly a mess.

Matrix has plenty of trolls but no real equivalent to Morph

probably takes too long to join channels to make spamming enjoyable

... did I just solve the spam problem here? Just need to make channels take 30+ minutes to join ?

Gajim works on postmarketOS, Mobian and such, that counts as mobile: https://wiki.postmarketos.org/wiki/Gajim Not sure if they realise that the way Gajim is written is pretty incompatible with Android in principle.

wladmis: it's not up to me, but start chat can surely improved if you can explain your issues well. However, better talk to lovetox :) ✏
