Hello! I'm checking XEP-0174, and I'm wondering why the support has been dropped from Gajim in 2022? Is it because of lack of interest from users, or something else?

damn that's sad. thanks indeed for making gajim such a great piece of software. you guys do great work and im happy to get to use it every day. among friends, we've been discussing about how "gyatt" rarely takes accountability and they literally proved they couldn't after blame-shifting above. was hoping they'd be better since ive known them for a few years but it seems like a reoccurring pattern unfortunately
-
alfalfascout
question: I've been reading about blind trust before verification. I understand what happens when this setting is ON. But I can't find anything that says what behavior the client chooses when this setting is OFF. When it's off, does Gajim naΓ―vely trust all devices or does it trust no devices until verified?
-
avron
alfalfascout, as a user, when I tried turning it off, it seemed to me it trusted no new device (already seen device that were trusted remained trusted)

but I'd appreciate if anyone confirms that I did not misunderstand

alfalfascout: yes it means all devices have to be manually trusted by the user

> Hello! I'm checking XEP-0174, and I'm wondering why the support has been dropped from Gajim in 2022? Is it because of lack of interest from users, or something else? I used to use Serverless Messaging with Gajim back then (0.16?), but it isn't well integrated with XMPP nowadays, e.g. PEP applications like OMEMO are difficult. I'm not sure, if it still makes sense for instant messaging. Probably for other applications, i.e. home automation, machine-to-machine, IoT. That's why I'm not sad, that the feature is gone from Gajim. ↺

Hi, I am facing an issue with Gajim. Adding 16/17 accounts in Gajim causes the window to grow downwards in a way that the message box is out of the user's view. I think this is due to the left-most pane trying to offer space to such a large number of accounts and grows downwards, increasing the size of the overall window along the way. At that point tried going fullscreen and manually resizing the window, but to no avail. Manually resizing at the left and right side of the window still works, but top or bottom ddesn't. I am using v1.9.5 on Debian. Just posting this issue here to see if anyone else has had the same issue or this has been solved already in v2.x.x. Thanks✎ -

on a serious note, i deem it too much code to count how often you use a reaction to determine your favorites

but its not impossible to make them customizeable

Depends, if you want the exact same experience you'd have chatting from 1 device on MSN or AIM or XMPP in 2004 then Pidgin is great, otherwise no
