    It seems that PMs are impossible to send if the the muc pm chat was opened and the contact was offline at the time Gajim was started, but appears online later.

    works with Dino, works with Conversations. So, looks like something is wrong on Gajim's side.

    I found the issue, Gajim checks `bool(has_text and joined and not is_visitor)`. The problem is that I'm a visitor, however I'm allowed to send PMs to mods, but Gajim doesn't consider that.

    Why do .gif get sent as png in gajim ?

    What you see is a thumbnail

    If you want to see the gif you need to open the downloaded file in an app that can play gifs

    In gajim the downloaded file saves as a .png

    it even says .gif, if you click the folder you go to a file thats named .gif and if you open it, its a gif
