Gajim - 2025-03-16

When did XEP-0118 get removed from Gajim? This one can tell that it did get implemented at some point: https://dev.gajim.org/gajim/gajim/-/issues/2229. However, it's seemingly not there anymore. Is there any specific reason it's gone?

Hello, How do i do so I can read omemo message that i send from the conversation app so i can read them on gajim ?

I get the "omemo but not for your device msg"

for old messages or for new that you send from conversations?

check in conversations if you see the fingerprint of your Gajim app and if it is trusted

nounours: i have noticed that sometimes in conversations it can help to just turn omemo off and then on

But in general for online contacts no real need to verify. Just use e2ee unverified, works well.

would it be possible to make Gajim refocus on the input field after selecting an emoji form the emoji picker?

tricky because there are situations where you dont want that

for example if you want to insert multiple emojis

the focus will bring the popup down

but there is a trivial solution, dont use the button

use the shortcut CTRL + .

shortcodes also work, you can trigger them with ":"
