Hey everyone! I'm looking for some support on an XMPP issue that I'm trying to solve for a few days now. >_< So, I decided to create a second XMPP account recently (personal reasons), but no matter what I can't send OMEMO encrypted messages. I've tried 3 different servers, but when trying to send any message Gajim outputs "No devices found to encrypt this message to. Querying for devices now..." Sending unencrypted works fine. From a few heavy searches the only promising result I got is this: "The fix was to check the error log of prosody (prosody.err) and this includes the command you need to run to upgrade the database to the newest version, this resolved the problem", which suggests a problem in the server? Which shouldn't be the case since I tried 3 different accounts? If anyone has had experience with this, please let me know. Any help is appreciated since there's little to no info on this issue (at least that I could find) :P

No, I'd love to try this on my own but don't have the ability to do so right now

So you created 2 different accounts on the same server and added them both to gajim ?

I have 1 account on a server which works correctly, but after trying to create a second account on a different server the issue appeared. I've tried creating more accounts on 3 completely different servers in total but they all had the same issue. Right now I only have 2 accounts in Gajim: the one that works and the one that I'm currently messaging from (on which OMEMO doesn't work)

Having trouble with xmpp calls. I just don't hear anything at all when I try to make a call, but apparently my wife heard me call her phone (via jmp.chat). Am I doing something wrong or are calls not fully implemented yet?

They have shared status but not added in the contact list. Is that something that should be done?

Yes go to the contact details and check if you share and they share

Sharing and "adding to contact list" is the same thing

Added contacts. I can now send OMEMO messages between the two accounts, but the "Note to myself" chat on the broken account still doesn't work. Is this a server thing? Also, it's weird that adding contacts kind of fixed the issue (?) since I was able to message a different person in the past without adding them. Is it supposed to work this way?

Omemo with contacts not added to the contact list can fail under some conditions

So here's a new one - anytime an SMS has the word "f*ck" in it, it get's blocked. But not variations of that word.

But only for sending.

I've never seen that on any carrier before.

just installed gajim 1.9.5 and i must say oi loike it 😃️
