I didn't notice, that's cool. Useless but better than nothing! Especially because i like Matrix much less: is so bloated compared to XMPP. I only wish it was easier to make a XMPP server. And I don't mean "Docker-easy" but more like a single Go executable, instead of configuring DNS and hundreds lines .conf files (at least this is how I imagine it is, I never bothered to check)

based, xmpp then is as easy as apt install ejabberd then (older version in the repo i think) :D then the only thing u need to config is ur domain in the config and it werks - now for dns and the rest you might want them if you want to get a 100% compliance, but who cares about that if its a personal server just for your family or frens

It's really that easy? I edit the DNS zone as described in the docs and there are no critical security config to change? It seems weird, maybe a default password, a connection limit, or something

imo deafults are just fine, i was retarded enough to tinker with those for the compliance tester but that was just me

I have come to the conclusion that autistic people are the normal ones, normies are the retards. Really. It all comes down to thinking about negative things: normies never think about things going bad, they only have happy thoughts. The person said it was very easy to make it work ↺

Excuse me kind sir but I lurked 99.99999% of the time and never annoyed anyone, now all I wanted was reframe the "nuke all normies" comment that seemed a little extreme to me, and gave it a little more insight under a psychological point of view, I didn't mention politics in any way, I just quoted a YouTuber/Twitch streamer

I thought it was a chat, but if any conversation that's not pertinent to Gaijim only is not allowed to derail going off topic I apologise and will continue to lurk for the next decade as usual

I'll only add that this kind of enforcement from the management is the pathway for a community extinction in my opinion. At least this is my experience from what I've seen in the past, when moderators couldn't wait to use their power foaming from their mouth for the dopamine rush of crushing the lesser

Apparently, Gajim doesn't always show every message! I saw I missed a at least one message, so I opened up another client, which _did_ show the message, and then searched for that message in Gajim. Gajim _did_ show the message in the search results, but when clicking on it, it just scrolls to the position where the message _should have been_. Gajim 1.9.5 Windows.

Oh yeah, that message _has_ been edited, not moderated. Let's see if there's a pattern.

if the message that you search was edited to something else afterwards

then it would seem as if it was missing

but there should be a edit symbol in gajim

and if you hover it you see the original message

but a quick test in master shows, you can search for the corrected message

and also for the uncorrected

though it will show you the corrected in the result

so what you searched for and what you got as result seems not to match
