Louis2: you need gsound

The following NEW packages will be installed: gsound-tools

It works now, though I can't see it in pavuaudio for some reason

Yes, recommended packages are installed by default, so that it should work ootb when people just install blindly. But advanced users can remove the package, if the don't need or want it.

Louis2 You might like to install gajim from Debian backports. Still not 1.9.5, but at least 1.8.4, the best that is still compatible with Debian stable.

I use that version at work and it's pretty good.
