1.7.3. on Debian stable and I can't hear any sound notifications, neither see it opening in Pavuaudio when testing notifications, any clues?

> 1.7.3. on Debian stable and I can't hear any sound notifications, neither see it opening in Pavuaudio when testing notifications, any clues? It used to work for me, but I only use the sound notifications via trigger plugin. Now I'm on a much newer Gajim, so I can't check easily. ↺

I wonder why package wasn't requirement on Debian GNU/Linuxxx
-
cal0pteryx
It's a recommended package (at least in Gajim's readme)

Yes, recommended packages are installed by default, so that it should work ootb when people just install blindly. But advanced users can remove the package, if the don't need or want it.

Louis2 You might like to install gajim from Debian backports. Still not 1.9.5, but at least 1.8.4, the best that is still compatible with Debian stable.

I use that version at work and it's pretty good.

https://marc.info/?l=openbsd-ports&m=173445623327812&w=2 I use gajim on openbsd, and right now we can't call using it cos we don't have farstream in our ports tree as it is old and unmaintained. Is there another way to do audio calls on gajim without this?
