Some times I need to copy chat log (conversation) to share other teammate. But its not comfortable to copy in Gajim Desktop (win). Guys, please make my life comfortable. So that I can select conversation and copy-paste. 😁️πŸ₯°οΈ

  2. fahadusman23

    > fahadusman23: you scroll upwards or search. There is no dedicated history manager anymore thanks a ton

  3. cal0pteryx

fahadusman23: you can copy single (and multiple) messages by using the message menu > select messages

    > fahadusman23: you can copy single (and multiple) messages by using the message menu > select messages wow, thanks man

It now looks like spellcheck is not working, dependencies are all installed. Works fine in Kmail (Qt) and claws mail GTK just not Gajim. It highlights the miss spelt word gives the options for language choice but offers no correction.

  6. cal0pteryx

ic_: libspelling (and compatible dictionaries) need to be installed

  7. cal0pteryx

    Works fine here

Hi, a user is reporting that they couldn’t figure out how to open a private chat in a semi-anon MUC, they tried a right click on the user but there is no menu entry for that, this could be a good discoverability improvement I think.

  9. Link Mauve

With the mention that a double click does the same action.

    Oh yes exactly that!

    > ic_: libspelling (and compatible dictionaries) need to be installed Maybe I'm going mad I could swear right click gave a choice of words to replace the miss spelt word but now I have to left click on the word followed by right click to get the list.

  14. cal0pteryx

Link Mauve: already added in current master

Ah, I forgot to update before reporting that, sorry!

  16. Link Mauve

    Perfect, just tested it. :)

  17. slingshot

    Hi, new user here

  18. Link Mauve

    Hi slingshot, welcome here. :)

  19. slingshot

How do you enable OMEMO encryption? Whenever I select it and send a message, it says, "No devices found to encrypt this message to. Querying for devices now..."

  20. Link Mauve

slingshot, make sure both you and your contact are properly added as contacts, in both directions, and that they use at least one client with OMEMO enabled.

  21. slingshot

Ah, I see. So you need to add the contact first. I was sending the message to "Note to myself"... (sadly, I have no friends) 😭️

  23. Link Mauve

slingshot, you could technically send an encrypted message to yourself, if you had more than one client.

  24. Link Mauve

Because traditionally you don’t encrypt for yourself if you’re alone, better not send a message in the first place then.

Guys, we're out of Xmpp. It hasn't met the requirements of secure messengers for a long time, all these XEPs that each client supports at its own discretion and desire, has led to the fact that XMPP doesn't have a normal reference client at all. I recommend you to familiarize yourself with SimpleX messenger

  26. shedar

Resistance is futile. The dead grandmother must be buried.

  27. shedar

Even the irc protocol, which is much older than xmpp has more predictable behavior than all these clients with nailed down XEPs.

  28. cal0pteryx

shedar: please stop, that's just advertising

had me on the first half

  31. shedar

It's not an advertisement, it's just my opinion. How can I make money off of SimpleX's mind? Are you such a sissy that the mention of another messenger makes you cry?

  32. mike

    shedar: don't care + didn't ask
