    I tested the GTK4 nightly on Windows. Front rendering is unusable (and iirc the GTK devs did a big f you on subpixel rendering). Is this the way Gajim will look forever now?

    Not sure maybe changing the rendering backend helps but there are other things broken then

    Anon Ymous: apart from emojis font rendering works fine for me. If there is a specific subpixel rendering issue for you, which you already connected GTK devs with, you already answered your own question.

    I am using Debian nightly, recently sid has moved to Plasma 6 and now my cursor turns larger within Gajim. Obviously this does not happen with Qt apps but also does not happen with any of my GTK apps either , just Gajim.

    You'll have to wait until they merge viewport into mutter and then they will land the patches for gtk
