    > i think you have to download them and then view with whatever The downloaded image would be AES encrypted

  2. cal0pteryx

covfefe19: you would need to download them first using either omemo plugin or a recent Gajim version with integrated omemo support

  3. MSavoritias (fae/ve, she/her)

how do i share my location in gajim? readme says > GeoClue for sharing your location

  4. MSavoritias (fae/ve, she/her)

but i cant find any button except the recording and the attachment

  5. lovetox

this is not as you know it from other messengers

  6. lovetox

there is a continous location share thing in xmpp, you can simply enable it in the preferences, and then your contacts can live track your location until you turn it off

  7. lovetox

but im not aware on any client who supports that

  8. MSavoritias (fae/ve, she/her)

right in that way it makes sense

  9. lovetox

and Gajim also only supports the sending side, not displaying it in a useful fashin

  10. MSavoritias (fae/ve, she/her)

i thought it was like cheogram share location

  11. MSavoritias (fae/ve, she/her)

    or jami

  12. MSavoritias (fae/ve, she/her)

    where it has a map

  13. lovetox

yes, we want that, and it would be easy to do with the current code

  14. lovetox

    basically everything is in place

  15. lovetox

its just a bit tricky where to get the map data from, because usually services give you that only for money

  16. MSavoritias (fae/ve, she/her)

right. anyways looks like its not worth to add it as a depedency now. it only makes the package larger with no benefits

  17. lovetox

yes i would also advice to leave it out for now

  18. MSavoritias (fae/ve, she/her)

    ok. thank you

  19. deport

    https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Raster_tile_providers

  20. deport

It looks like openstreetmap and some others have free tile servers. Not that I even want this feature.

  21. lovetox

ah we already use it i see

  22. lovetox

to display location links from others

  23. MSavoritias (fae/ve, she/her)

as i remember the sentry-sdk is only so that people can be able to send reports to the gitlab server right?

  24. MSavoritias (fae/ve, she/her)

we have it packaged but it is not added as a depedency yet

  25. MSavoritias (fae/ve, she/her)

like the readme does say that i just wanted to confirm :P also i have never seen the UI that would appear

  26. MSavoritias (fae/ve, she/her)

huh reading the MR that is exactly what it does https://dev.gajim.org/gajim/gajim/-/merge_requests/775 i wonder why it wasnt enabled before oO

  27. lovetox

if the dependency is available the send button will send the report automatically

  28. lovetox

if not, the send button will open gitlab and user needs an account

  29. MSavoritias (fae/ve, she/her)

right makes sense. i added it as a depedency

  30. hueso

    test

    👍 2
  31. hueso

alright it doesn't happen in this room, but there's another where my messages get duplicated, with the colour of being not mine (red)

  32. lissine

hueso, that is likely a private message in a public channel

  33. hueso

hmm no, it's a public message, just like the recent "test"

  35. hueso

here's an example: I send a bird, but two birds appear

  36. hueso

and the sent message stays in "pending"

  37. lovetox

yes its a ejabberd bug, if you rejoin the room it should work

  38. hueso

I just closed and rejoined but still. Should I close the room in all my clients? (I'm connected in Conversations too)

  39. hueso

I also tried changing my nickname back and forth

  40. hueso

is this fixed on latest ejabberd?

  41. lovetox

    no

  43. deport

hueso, this might be related https://dev.gajim.org/gajim/gajim/-/issues/12004

  44. hueso

yeah my nickname was changed at some point (not by me but by a bug)
