Gajim - 2024-08-23

@ fjklp: Thanks for trying that. "Extra condition" seems a valid inference from your results. There is no extra condition, as affecting Gajim or keyring, that I deliberately put in place. (All I did was to install Gajim and start using it.) As for an extra condition accidentally put in place I cannot think of any candidate (not very knowledgeable in computing). I will report back if I find any futher clue.

Sounds like an interesting movie. Time will tell if it's ever translated from Korean to something else.

  6. t

Sounds like what the world is actually like, with misleading slogans aimed at the youth, like be yourself and find your passion.

    Indeed t, indeed

Patrick: start gajim from a terminal using `gajim -v` and check for errors. Alternatively, use flatpak, it's way newer

as far as I know, Canonical has not (officially) released the upgrade from 22.04 to 24.04 yet. But should happen next week with the release of 24.04.1. They have postponed the date from 19.08. to 29.08.

  14. cal0pteryx

Patrick: looks like something is wrong with openssl on your system. Try flatpak :) it works

  15. fjklp

Patrick: there has been an upgrade available for awhile

  16. fjklp

Patrick: there has been an upgrade available for awhile from 23.10 to 24.04. Oh, 22.04 is supported until april 2027. Nevermind.

  18. fjklp

    woo, that was a ride

  19. fjklp

there are more mucs than I thought

  20. fjklp

go to start/join chat. Select global group chat search. Hit space then enter. Keeps gajim busy for awhile :)

  21. fjklp

    2100 group chats found

  22. cal0pteryx

fjklp: :D please create an issue, then we can avoid empty strings or have a minimum search length

  23. meson

fjklp: sounds like a neat junior job ;)

  24. lovetox

Why ? Gajims does not hang and the user can abort anytime

  25. meson

From fjklp descr it souded like it would hang

  26. lovetox

I doubt it. It simply takes a time until the server sends us all reaults

  27. lovetox

I doubt it. It simply takes a time until the server sends us all resulta

  28. meson

But trimming white spaces still would be reasonable?

  29. Kevin

    did gajim logo change ?

  30. Kevin

or its only the flathub version which shows slightly different logo

  31. cal0pteryx

Kevin: it did not change. Some distros ship their own versions though

  32. cal0pteryx

    > But trimming white spaces still would be reasonable? For me it makes sense

  33. Kevin

    > Kevin: it did not change. Some distros ship their own versions though but i installed a flatpak 🤔

  34. Kevin

is the flatpak maintained by the distro

  35. cal0pteryx

    Nope :)

  36. Kevin

so they just change the icon pack ?

  37. Kevin

in Mint they have a light bulb gajim logo

  40. cal0pteryx

  44. cal0pteryx

  45. moparisthebest

That's kinda crazy that a distro would just change application icons no? Do they do it to chrome and Firefox etc too?

  46. Kevin

    idk

  47. Kevin
