    > are you asking if you can send a email with an xmpp account? no yes that one i wanna know,...will that work??

  2. lissine

zero: there is. But I didn't test it. You're on your own https://smtp.cheogram.com/

  3. ss01

Hi, I have installed the version Gajim-1.9.2-64bit , the notification window has changed a lot, is it possible to somehow return the window that was in version 1.8.4?

  4. ss01

Or maybe I can change the size, the windows are too big for me, now I just disabled them because the notifications used Windows alerts, they used to be compact and I really liked it

  5. lovetox

    Show a screenshot?

  6. lovetox

    Can you Show a screenshot

    > wait, what? according to spec? yes, according to XEP-0084 indeed. I think a lot of clients don't respect that and it does not matter much. I do think that gajim does the conversion on setting an avatar though.

    > Hi, I have installed the version Gajim-1.9.2-64bit , the notification window has changed a lot, is it possible to somehow return the window that was in version 1.8.4? oh I meant to my image as as a reply to this ⬆ :)

  11. nicoco

But apparently images upload as reply-to are not supported by gajim. Anyway, I meant to say that I'm surprised that you preferred custom notification boxes to OS-specific ones. Can't you customize that in Windows settings?

  13. cal0pteryx

ss01: this is the new default. We use what Windows provides.

  14. cal0pteryx

And yes, there won't be spacebar heating ;D

  15. ss01

Okay, nothing.. it's okay, buddy, I just have an ahk script running, and the window is a little different in size, I'll edit it later, thanks for the software support, I see a lot of new updates, such as voice, reactions to messages and maybe something else

  16. ss01

Are the reactions visible only in Gajim?

  17. cal0pteryx

ss01: they are visible in every app which supports it, see https://xmpp.org/extensions/#xep-0444-implementations

    > Different question: I would like to observe two or three MUCs at the same time, side by side. I'm interested in following the discussions without necessarily participating. What would be the way to go? Starting Gajim twice or thrice? Do I need to change something in the desktop file for that? Has somebody an idea for me?

  19. fjklp-temp

    > Has somebody an idea for me? pin chats, keyboard shortcuts, alt+1, etc

  20. fjklp-temp

is it possible to run multiple gajim instances on a single profile?

  21. fjklp-temp

I guess you can do it with separate profiles

    ✅ 1
  22. nicoco

debacle: The proper way to go would be a "detach chats from the main window" feature. It would me a nice feature IMHO, but it would probably be a huge merge request with a lot of refactoring, and lovetox would have to approve of the idea first. 😏 You could launch several gajim instances with `gajim -p profile2 -c ~/.local/share/profile2`, in each "profile" you need to set up your account again, but that should work.

  23. debacle

nicoco Will try the profile approach, thank you! It's a little messy to be logged in with multiple Gajim on the same machine at the same time, but at least my OMEMO keys PEP node will be happy to get more items! :-)

  24. debacle

nicoco Works fine! Now I only need to get rid of the side bar with the workspace and account icons, which takes too much valuable screen real estate.

  25. meson

debacle: is it really useful? One can only really pay attention to a single thing at a time. Also, if. Something has changed in another chat, you normally see it by either notification or by the unread message marker and then you can switch.

  26. meson

    Multitasking is a lie :-P

    👍 1
  27. debacle

meson The point is, that I can watch this or that MUC without having to touch my keyboard. I can immediately see, if there is something going on, which needs interaction (most of the time: not), without having to switch all the time, which drives me nuts.

  28. lissine

meson: multiple displays are not a lie :×

  29. nicoco

I think there is a "notification center" draft or plan somewhere that is supposed to solve what you want to achieve by multi-windowing debacle.

  30. debacle

nicoco Just by the word, "notification center" sounds good!

  31. meson

    > I think there is a "notification center" draft or plan somewhere that is supposed to solve what you want to achieve by multi-windowing debacle. I don't find anything related on gitlab. Was it maybe here in the chat?

  32. The Wild

Hello there, Is there a way from preventing Gajim to display the "unread" meassage pop-up displayed when you close it and still have unread messages ?

  33. lovetox

    bope

  34. lovetox

    nope

  35. The Wild

Can I make a feature request about that or would it be inappropiate?

  36. lovetox

    you can on our gitlab

  37. The Wild

    Ok thanks!
