Hello, I want to appear offline but still send and receive messages. How do I do this?

also, wiki.gajim.org (redirects to https://dev.gajim.org/gajim/gajim/-/wikis/home) does not display properly (no text displays at all) in the tor browser on the strictest security level (that blocks javascript). Therefore, I cannot read it for the answer, for opsec reasons.

Also our development platform (which provides a wiki) does require javascript to be enabled

Appearing offline while being online AFAIK isn't a thing in xmpp. You can mark yourself a do-not-disturb or refuse to share your online status entirely.

This is not true in groups though, where being "invisible" is definitely possible in theory, but I don't know if any server implement that, and I don't think that's actually something we want, invisible spies lurking… well there are web logs anyway, so that's already a thing I guess.

mentz: windows is a spyware operating system. plz switch to linux as soon as possible. mental outlaw on youtube has tutorials for this. once you switch to linux, not only will you see gajim working, but you will have liberated yourself from the gates-epstein operating system!

skraw, according to the whonix wiki, dino omemo encryption is not compatible with getting omemo encryption with gajim users for some reason.

So probably the problem as being caused by the antispam plugin.

I had set Limit Message Length to "1", thinking it would only affect direct messages from strangers; apparently it blocked all messages.
