Mmm what should happen if a resource suddenly becomes unavailable, eg the mic is suddenly unplugged. I'd say stop the recording, show an info label? Or continue the recording but only grab silence?

you go to accounts -> profile and click the edit button over the avatar

I don't, I'm just wondering if such a possibility exists and if it did, maybe we wouldn't want to stop recording. But this is probably and edge case if even possible.

multichannel recording is certainly possible. Stereo is very common. But I have no idea if gajim can or would run into it since I don't know how it configures sources.

If a user wants to mix streams they can do it themselv and then feed the result to Gajim Stereo Microphone: it's still a single resource :)

* you can't switch mics in gajim's settings while recording since when opening the setting it stops the recording and prompts you to send the audio (by design). You should be able to switch mics by means of your OS
