Does gajim support server registration invites? Like xmpp:example.org?register...

I've just noticied that I can't type «» characters in 1.8.4.

They do not seem to be any keyboard shortcuts intercepted by gajim though.

Which key combo is that for you?

Gajim tries to catch all keys which are not hotkeys and then focus the text input

Maybe your combo is not detected correctly

Keyboard layout would help as well I guess

altgr + w or x (US keyboard, French layout)

I can type other characters with altgr.

I can type them in gajim 1.7.3 over VNC. :P

does gajim handle muc notifications in a different way if the room is 'open' or 'members only' ?

members only notfies, public not

you can change that of course in the respective chat settings

this is meant for normal messages

if someone mentions you it does not matter if public or members only, you always get a notification

Neustradamus: I use tigervnc, the problem is on gajim running on my local system, not the one running in tigervnc.

try x11-vnc instead, it uses the same session iirc

Vnc is obsolete, use sunshine. VNC is for 56k modems

shodan, tigervnc works just fine, I don't need some bloated crap I need to run in a 'docker'.

exactly, if you just need a simple graphical environment for controlling a computer remotely, just use vnc and save your ram and disk space

if you want more features, bloat your computer all you want, i dont care
