hey guys in gajim there is a duplicate of me

my friends see this weird activity as well

is this a know bug in gajim

i am on ubuntu 23.10, gajim version 1.8.1

Likely you have a different Occupant nickname at another client? Make them same and check again.

I half-successfully tested MR 990. Nothing bad happened, but not all animated GIFs are actually animated. Anyway, it would be cool to have it in a release.

Also that's very much distracting to have stuff animate on their own :x

If click-to-play is too much effort for now, there could be a global setting (default to "static"). People using Jabber only in small circles (family, club, company) typically do not receive too many or too dangerous messages (and could set it to "animate").
