VA1DER: AFAIR, this may happen if a transport reports several features on the same domain (gateway and MUC, in this case).

Menel: isn't that the common practice for classic IMs? They're supposed to resemble the fluence and tempo of speech, with the possibility of interruptions (XEP-0301 would make this experience even more evident). I recently discovered my ICQ logs from 2011 and found out that time I had written one word per a message, because I though that's a de facto practice online (and also probably wanted to brag with my touch typing skills lol).

  3. bodqhrohro

In IRC that's still the case, especially given it does not support newlines in messages.

Hi I have ssl problem in gajim on windows, It refuses to log in to the account and through invalid cert. Whereas I am using other clients like cheogram on android and gajim on windows and they are working fine.

    > Hi I have ssl problem in gajim on windows > Whereas I am using other clients like ... and gajim on windows and they are working fine. Do you mean that it works on Gajim on one windows computer, but doesn't work on another? If that's the case, do they have the same versions of windows and Gajim?

  9. VA1DER

bodqhrohro That makes sense. When the screenshots they use for examples were taken, the slidgram gateway was probably just a transport with no MUC support. When they later added MUC support, it started showing up differently. Thanks. It's mostly working for me, I just wanted to make sure the difference in the way it looked through Gajim wasn't due to a misconfiguration on my part.

lovetox, Cool, sounds easy! I'll do that first with a test account just in case ;-)

Which setting do I have to activate or deactivate in Gajim so that the client does not open automatically when I start the computer, but only when I start it manually?

  12. Kris

It doesn't on Linux. If you are on Windows it likely added itself to the Windows autostart and you need to remove it there.

  14. Kris

You are likely on an old version of Windows that isn't supported by Gajim, right?

  15. cal0pteryx

hey: gajim should display a cert error with a more specific error message

  16. hey

    > You are likely on an old version of Windows that isn't supported by Gajim, right? nope, windows 10

  17. ann

Gajim crashes when I trying to load own profile, what could be wrong?

  19. ann

nevermind, update to Gajim 1.8.1 fixed that probkem

  20. lissine

by the way, it would be easier for others to help if you copy/paste instead of taking a screenshot

  21. lissine

(there's a paste bin mod so a long message wouldn't be annoying)
