  4. izaya Hi hello
  5. izaya Only just got the update to 1.2.1, and I was wondering where the setting to make avatars square again is?
  6. lovetox there is none and there never was
  7. izaya Am I misremembering/off my rocker? I could swear the previous version had square icons.
  8. izaya Am I misremembering/off my rocker? I could swear the previous version had square avatars.
  9. lovetox it had, but there was no configuration option to change that
  10. izaya Oh, and there's no option to change it back now?
  11. lovetox no
  12. izaya Alright, that answers that question. Thanks!

  16. felix morning. i've just updated to gajim-1.2.1 and now whenever i try to open an image, an obscure wine app is started for that. how do i tell gajim which application to use for opening images (and other files for that matter)?
  17. lovetox felix, on what operating system are you?
  18. lovetox i think wurstsalat found the file that manages that
  19. felix lovetox: gentoo linux
  20. hannibal felix: https://dev.gajim.org/gajim/gajim/-/wikis/help/gajimfaq#gajim-opens-folderfiles-with-the-wrong-application-linux
  21. felix thx. now i just need to figure the mime-type for http(s) links ;)
  22. lovetox felix, hm no
  23. lovetox its about the mimetype of the image
  24. felix lovetox: for images it's fixed. but not for general https links like hannibal's. opens the wrong browser.
  25. hannibal Try `gio info https://yoururl`
  26. lovetox i guess text/html?
  27. felix hannibal: "supplied url is not supported"
  28. felix lovetox: apparently not. :(
  29. lovetox url is not supported Oo
  30. hannibal Type might be text/html
  31. hannibal Type might be "text/html"
  32. lovetox but his gio does not be able to parse a https url
  33. lovetox so there is probably something missing dependency wise
  34. lovetox felix try gio mime text/html
  35. lovetox what does it say

  39. mjk felix: The type is `x-scheme-handler/https` iirc
  40. mjk felix: anyway, it may help to set `xdg-open` as the uri handler in gajim
  41. lovetox thats not possible
  42. felix just wanted to say, i haven't found that option.
  43. mjk lovetox: eh.. I remember there being some settings in 1.1.x to configure external handlers. Am I misremembering?
  44. mjk Don't have gajim with me right now
  45. mjk I think the setting was saying something about a browser
  46. lovetox they dont exist anymore
  47. mjk I see, okay
  48. felix gio mime lists it and says the browser used, so i need to change that.
  49. felix is there an option to list multiple applications as handler using gio mime?
  50. felix seems it works, thanks to all of you.
