  7. AnGry I'm trying to install Gajim from the source on openSUSE Tumbleweed. The command ./setup.py install --root=/ gives me: msgfmt: cannot locate ITS rules for data/org.gajim.Gajim.appdata.xml.in ERROR: /root/git/gajim/build/data/org.gajim.Gajim.appdata.xml was not merged into the translation files! Any hints what I have to do?
  8. lovetox hm hannibal ^ any idea?
  9. lovetox does it abort after that?
  10. AnGry Yes
  11. Eduard --root=/ ?
  12. Eduard Try changing the PATH
  13. Eduard Try changing the path
  14. wurstsalat Eduard, no that shouldn't matter. this is in fact the recommended way to install gajim
  15. Eduard Uhh
  16. hannibal AnGry, try: `msgfmt -v --xml -d po --template data/org.gajim.Gajim.appdata.xml.in -o /root/git/gajim/build/data/org.gajim.Gajim.appdata.xml` from gajim source dir
  17. AnGry hannibal: Did that. The output is: msgfmt: cannot locate ITS rules for data/org.gajim.Gajim.appdata.xml.in
  18. AnGry Do I miss a supporting software in my system?
  19. hannibal it looks like /usr/share/gettext/its/appdata.its is missing
  20. hannibal in Arch Linux this file is provided by appstream-glib
  21. hannibal AnGry, is appstream-glib installed on your system?
  22. AnGry Yeeeeaah ... that was the hint I needed. In openSUSE Tumbleweed it was the package appstream-glib-devel. After installing this package, and it's dependecies, I was able to run setup.py to the end without any errors. hannibal: Thank You!!!!
  23. lovetox we should add this to the building requirements
  24. hannibal lovetox, Ubuntu ships appdata.its in gettext package, which is already part of README.md
  25. lovetox no sure why its relevant what Ubuntu does?
  26. lovetox evendently other systems dont do that
  27. hannibal currently we use Ubuntu package names in README.md
  28. lovetox rather debian, but still not pretty
  29. hannibal or debian
  30. lovetox but i see no better solution
  31. lovetox at least with debian packages, someone can look it up on debian homepage, and look what is packaged there
  32. lovetox if just name librarys i think it would be harder
  33. lovetox but i get your point, in debian this package is not a dependency
