Gajim - 2020-02-11

  1. debacle Timestamps of received messages are receive time, not send time, which is confusing. E.g. I read my message before breakfast now in the morning, and I see a message of a friend "good night" of [07:50], which is the time I switched on my computer. But of course he sent the message yesterday at midnight.
  2. wurstsalat hm, that shouldn't be

  6. debacle wurstsalat For me, it is always that way. Note, that I did not stop Gajim, because my PC is only hibernated over night. Maybe when getting the message after waking up, it does timestamps wrongly?

  13. debacle lovetox, thanks for fixing appindicator! This makes Gajim master usable again for me :-)
  14. saltybones debacle, what's appindicator?
  15. Ellenor Malik Gajim on freebsd seems to be written in a blocking, non-evented way
  16. Ellenor Malik so the interface freezes up for a few seconds when things aren't going its way
  17. debacle saltybones https://dev.gajim.org/gajim/gajim-plugins/-/wikis/appindicatorsupportplugin
  18. ellenor https://paste.gajim.org/view/10482fa2 what would explain this nightmare?
  19. ellenor there's also something about no reply to keepalive pings?
  20. saltybones ellenor, hm..might be an issue with gajim not dealing with this apparent irc bridge properly
  21. saltybones it seems to have some missing fields in the stanzas its sending
  22. ellenor apparent irc bridge? it /is/ an irc bridge.
  23. saltybones actually...hm....not sure that's it
  24. saltybones ellenor, don't take anything I say as maintainer support I am just another idiot here ;)
  25. ellenor would it have anything to do with the fact that my gajim keeps disconnecting, but none of my other Jabber clients are doing that, saltybones?
  26. ellenor Nothing4You, ah, we meet again ;-)
  27. Nothing4You we do?
  28. ellenor i've seen you on some IRC systems before, I think
  29. ellenor we've probably not spoken much
  30. Nothing4You quite possible
  31. Nothing4You your name doesn't ring a bell though
  32. ellenor it likely won't
  33. ellenor as i said, we've not spoken
  34. ellenor i've just seen you jump on stuff like freenode before
  35. saltybones ellenor, I don't know but if you get frequent disconnects, if there are any race conditions in setting up the objects or weird internal states that might cause your issue. I've had similar things in the past.
  36. ellenor saltybones: there's frequent disconnects and the thing I logged in the pastebin
  37. Cyp Hi there! Just a question: how to correct last message in Gajim?
  38. lovetox ctrl + up arrow
  39. Cyp Thank you lovetox!
  40. Cyp I have not found the information in the documentation or elsewhere...
  41. bert WHAT. Didn't know that either! haha
  42. Nothing4You i still hope for that to be implemented with a different hotkey on macos
  43. lovetox Nothing4You, and that would be?
  44. Nothing4You idk but ctrl+up doesn't work as it's already assigned to an os shortcut
  45. Nothing4You not sure if alt+up is in use yet?
  46. Nothing4You doesn't seem like it
  47. lovetox what does ctrl + up in mac os?

  52. lovetox debacle, the timestamp thing, does it happen often?
  53. lovetox with other contacts?
  54. lovetox i did get today offline messages and had no problem with the timestamp
  55. lovetox ellenor, the bottom error is from the chatstate plugin
  56. lovetox which seem faulty so disable it
  57. gerald how come that for some room members, there's no thumbnail pic in the members list, but if I "rightclick-->information" on them, I can see their picture?
  58. Ellenor Malik lovetox: My system timestamp was off
  59. lovetox gerald, they dont broadcast their avatar to this muc
  60. gerald ^i see
  61. ellenor https://umbrellix.net/~ellenor/gajimmyrustled.txt
  62. ellenor an OK button failed to function appropriately
  63. wurstsalat ellenor: that one rings a bell, but I cannot find anything in the tracker
  64. Ellenor Malik it was in the boomarks dlg
  65. debacle debacle, I see it very often, with different contacts.
  66. debacle lovetox, I see it very often, with different contacts.
  67. lovetox on 1.1.3?
  68. debacle lovetox, currently I'm on master, but I always had this problem, also with 1.1.x
  69. lovetox then please next time gather logs so i can inspect what the problem is
  70. lovetox i cant reproduce that problem
  71. debacle I'll try to
  72. bot Daniel Brötzmann proposed a new merge request for _gajim/master_ < https://dev.gajim.org/gajim/gajim/merge_requests/572 >: DOAP: Add XEPs 0223 and 0261

  76. debacle bug or feature? I upgraded Gajim from master two weeks ago to today and *all* MUCs are gone (I'm using Dino to type this)
  77. debacle and alt-n lists only contacts, no MUCs
  78. debacle there is a traceback:
  79. debacle Traceback (most recent call last): https://conference.gajim.org:5281/pastebin/d23fe7fe-8ef8-4ed2-a0d4-465463db5366
  80. debacle not sure, if it is related
  81. debacle and I get a lot of "Presence from unknown MUC" (from the MUCs I'm in)
  82. bot Daniel Brötzmann modified an issue in _gajim_ < https://dev.gajim.org/gajim/gajim/issues/9971 >: #9971: < XMPP Compliance Suites 2020 >
  83. lovetox are they gone also in Dino?
  84. lovetox error could be relevant
  85. lovetox but without full log cant say much
  86. lovetox im relatively sure that it has nothing to do with the upgrade
  87. lovetox debacle, looks like you upgraded Gajim without nbxmpp
  88. lovetox so no your bookmarks are not gone Gajim just cant download them
  89. lovetox upgrade nbxmpp and all is good
  90. debacle lovetox, will do now, thanks!
  91. debacle lovetox, works like a charm
  92. debacle and also the new conversation dialog is now much faster
  93. debacle the incremental loading is not annoying anymore, but very smooth
