  10. wurstsalat ValdikSS, ^ You could have said something in this chat, would be appreciated :)
  11. ValdikSS oh cool, that was fast
  12. ValdikSS Well yes, I'm for this change, I was VERY confused by the overall function to execute something from the chat window and that one of the command alias is called /show
  13. ValdikSS This feature was added by the Ukrainian developer, we joked about Ukrainian GRU traces in another chat
  14. ValdikSS wurstsalat, actually I haven't rised the awareness of this command because I was (and I still am) pretty sure it could be triggiered without user interaction/consent and wanted to make it RCE.
  15. wurstsalat ValdikSS: well, if you have a PoC, I'd appreciate it if you could share it
  16. ValdikSS wurstsalat, I don't have it yet, but I'll chare as soon as I make it
  17. wurstsalat Thanks

  28. wurstsalat asterix, I changed the i18n directory structure, now it should be easier to integrate translations
  29. lovetox_ ValdikSS i very much doubt that you can tigger sending something from the message input, without user interaction
  30. lovetox_ i dont want to say impossible, because probably nothing is impossible with computers, but i dont remember any codepath that makes Gajim hit "Enter" automatically when something is in the message input
  31. lovetox_ and that is what you would need, 1. something that puts the text into the message input (this i consider already as very unlikely) 2. trigger the return key
  32. Odo Hello everyone, a question about Gajim: https://conference.gajim.org:5281/pastebin/ed3fd752-1c5c-452b-8a17-d266e3371741
  33. bot Daniel Brötzmann modified an issue in _gajim_ < https://dev.gajim.org/gajim/gajim/issues/9826 >: #9826: < Build: fails on UBPorts >
  34. Link Mauve Odo, are you using OMEMO maybe?
  35. Odo As I already asked in a German MUC, I started a debug logging, closed Gajim, restarted Gajim, logged the first 4 minutes after restart, where Gajim usually should fetch missing messages, and stopped bedug logging (and restarted Gajim afterwards).
  36. Odo Link Mauve, yes, as it's a private chat, we use Omemo there.
  37. Link Mauve Odo, make sure your contact is encrypting for Gajim then.
  38. Odo but usually I guess, Gajim after a restart should search for missing messages via MAM, so I hope that in the 16 MB of debug log from that 4 minutes there's perhaps something helpful, I can search for (or someone else, if willing to)?
  39. Odo Link Mauve, as I am able to read those messages in Conversations and pix-art (as I wrote above), his messages are encrypted ... what do you mean by "encrypted for Gajim"? But I have accepted his Omemo key, we already wrote for days now and I was able to read all his messages so far.
  40. Odo Link Mauve, as I am able to read those messages in Conversations and pix-art (as I wrote above), his messages are encrypted ... what do you mean by "encrypted for Gajim"? But I have accepted his Omemo key, we already wrote for days now and I was able to read all his messages so far, also in Gajim.
  41. Link Mauve Odo, OMEMO works by having one session by device of the contact.
  42. Link Mauve So if your contact talks to you and you use these three clients, they must encrypt for all three.
  43. Odo but today 2 messages are missing (and no text lines like "not encrypted for this device" appear instead)
  44. Link Mauve If they don’t, you’ll miss messages on the other ones.
  45. Link Mauve Ah, it might be something different then.
  46. Odo Link Mauve, yes, I know, and he did so in the past, otherwise I wouldn't be able to read his messages so far in the past days and wekks
  47. Odo Link Mauve, yes, I know, and he did so in the past, otherwise I wouldn't be able to read his messages so far in the past days and weeks
  48. Link Mauve Right.
  49. pep. Link Mauve, I hope gajim doesn't dismiss these messages though (when somebody is not encrypted for it), but only displayed a generic message
  50. pep. Link Mauve, I hope gajim doesn't dismiss these messages though (when somebody is not encrypting for it), but only displayed a generic message
  51. Link Mauve pep., I thought it did at some point, maybe not in the latest release anymore.
  52. pep. That,s the sane thing to do, I hope it does :x
  53. Odo Link Mauve, but if I miss messages due to failing Omemo keys, there usually is this "not encrypted for this device" line instead, but there is no sign that there even was written something, so I was only able to see that he wrote something in other xmpp clients
  54. pep. Can you see these messages in the gajim console?
  55. Link Mauve Ah, it might be something different then.
  56. Odo pep., you mean the XML console?
  57. Odo pep., there I see actual events, but not events before opening the console, so how should I be able to see there older XML messages from the respective missing messages?
  58. wurstsalat Odo, this is where your gajim -v logs help out. they cover the xml stanzas
  59. Odo wurstsalat, what are "-v logs"? I have debug logs
  60. bot Daniel Brötzmann modified an issue in _gajim_ < https://dev.gajim.org/gajim/gajim/issues/9636 >: #9636: < Conversation nick changed to `me` >
  61. wurstsalat Odo, it should be the same thing
  62. Nothing4You gajim doesn't launch on my mac anymore
  63. Nothing4You git version
  64. Nothing4You complains about a missing css_parser module
  65. wurstsalat Nothing4You, yes, there was a change in dependencies. you have to install python-css-parser
  66. pep. What do you use css for btw?
  67. Nothing4You instead of cssutils?
  68. Nothing4You or in addition?
  69. wurstsalat instead of the old one, Nothing4You
  70. wurstsalat pep. for Gtk styling
  71. Nothing4You thanks
  72. Nothing4You should be updated here https://dev.gajim.org/gajim/gajim/wikis/help/gajimmacosx
  73. pep. wurstsalat, ah ok
  74. Nothing4You the pypi package name is css-parser
  75. wurstsalat Oh yeah, thanks Nothing4You
  76. pep. Link Mauve, ^ you might also want to update the AUR package
  77. wurstsalat Nothing4You, updated! :)
  78. Nothing4You thanks
  79. pep. Link Mauve, https://conference.gajim.org:5281/pastebin/755d882c-4f5e-49da-8bb9-31607ddf7b96
  80. wurstsalat pep., this dependency update is for current master, is this AUR package from git master?
  81. pep. yes
  82. pep. "aur/gajim-git"
  83. Link Mauve pep., you should be able to push to it now. :)
  84. Link Mauve Thanks for the patch!
  85. pep. k
  86. wurstsalat ah, was confused by `pkgver=1.0.0.beta1`
  87. Link Mauve wurstsalat, yeah, that’s because there has been no tag on master since that one.
  88. wurstsalat are you sure? https://dev.gajim.org/gajim/gajim/-/tags
  89. pep. yes iirc we already had this discussion here :p
  90. Link Mauve wurstsalat, this tag is on the gajim_1.1 branch, not on master.
  91. Link Mauve As you can see on tip: https://dev.gajim.org/gajim/gajim/commit/257f784804d81afcafe996d4d96b0e93c17a11dc
  92. pep. package updated!

  101. lovetox otherwise there is not much i can do

  109. porrier Some time ago I had a patch for gajim so it showed the accountname in the tray instead of the numbered domainname. Since changing the OS to LinuxMint I don't have it anymore. This is gajim v1.0.1. Could someone provived this patch one more time?
  110. lovetox whats a numbered domain name?

  112. wurstsalat I think porrier means xmppserver, xmppserver1, and so on
  113. lovetox was it not possible to just rename the account in 1.0.1?
  114. porrier wurstsalat: Yes
  115. porrier lovetox: I don't see how to rename the accounts shown in the tray.

  122. 0ic0 hi guys/girls ... do you have issues with the connection to gmail ?!?
  123. 0ic0 I get an SSL error about a self-signed certificate (Gajim 1.1.3)
  124. Zash Neat, they're requiring SNI there too.
  125. Zash Subject: organizationalUnitName: No SNI provided; please fix your client. commonName: invalid2.invalid Errors: self signed certificate
  126. 0ic0 something like that
  127. 0ic0 the strange thing is that I have a very ancient pidgin which does not complain at all
  128. 0ic0 not sure that the connection is secure though :)
  129. Zash TLS 1.2 and below seems to get through without that SNI thing.
  130. wurstsalat lovetox, thanks for that connection method in nbxmpp, works well :) tomorrow I'll adapt the certificate/connection dialog
  131. wurstsalat Zash ^ that was your issue :)
  132. Zash Is that why I had emails?
  133. Zash > Opened 8 years ago by Zash
  134. 0ic0 I tried with debug but the console output is rather scarce
