Gajim - 2019-08-24

  1. wurstsalat A room avatar at last!
  2. Eduard I love the avatar, simple but just mean "Gajim", I can hear it. Lol
  3. tom Is there any way to build Gajim with gtk2 instead of gtk3?
  4. tom since it's built upon cairo is that possible?
  5. asterix tam: Clearly not. Last gtk2 version is 0.6.9
  6. lovetox 0.16.9

  19. concerto Is there any documentation of Gajim's DB schema?
  20. concerto Kind of tired of guessing at it from the table contents...
  21. bot Daniel Brötzmann modified an issue in _gajim_ < https://dev.gajim.org/gajim/gajim/issues/9596 >: #9596: < Add UI to search history from contact/chat window >
  22. wurstsalat concerto, there is this, but probably outdated: https://dev.gajim.org/gajim/gajim/wikis/development/LogsDatabase
  23. wurstsalat I'd rather ask specific questions
  24. concerto wurstsalat: thanks!
  25. concerto I wrote a log exporting script which I recently noticed had broken. I'm getting an empty value for either * contact name when 'kind' is 1 or 2, or * jid_id when 'kind' is 4
  26. concerto And just what is 'account_id' in the logs table?
  27. lovetox the id of the account
  28. concerto lovetox: what does that mean? 😔
  29. lovetox the account the message belongs to
  30. lovetox what else :D
  31. lovetox you know you can have multiple accounts in gajim
  32. lovetox concerto not sure what happend in your database
  33. lovetox aber kind is 4 means normal chatmessage
  34. lovetox jid_id must always be filled in that case
  35. lovetox if you have such lines in your database you should delete them
  36. lovetox my database has 2 million entrys and every single one has a jid_id value
  37. concerto lovetox: yeah, it's not the jid_id that is blank
  38. concerto lovetox: isn't contact_id the sender's name in an MUC? i.e. shouldn't be blank with kind=2?
  39. concerto Because I have a few of those. Mostly look like messages sent by inputmice in conversations@
  40. lovetox yes kind 2 should always have a contact name
  41. lovetox thats the muc resource
  42. lovetox only maybe in some circumstances not
  43. lovetox if the admin of a server sends messages to a room
  44. lovetox than there is no resource
  45. lovetox hm but yeah i also found some messages where contact_name is not set
  46. lovetox probably a bug

  52. tom Would it be a good idea to switch gajim to qt instead of gtk3?
  53. wurstsalat tom: no
  54. tom Can you build Gajim with gtk2 instead of gtk3 since it uses cairo?
  55. wurstsalat No
  56. wurstsalat Gajim was based on gtk2 before version 1.0.
  57. wurstsalat Since 1.0 it is based on gtk3 and there is no way to "build" gajim with gtk2
  58. tom I take it no external patches exist for use with any other graphical toolkit?
  59. tom Why is everything hidden behind hamburger menus in Gajim 1?
  60. tom and why does it look like a phone app?
