Gajim - 2019-08-21

  1. concerto Does Gajim's C-n menu (Start new chat) not search for MUC subjects?
  2. andy wurstsalat: Ctrl + . works but emoji picker menu is odd?
  3. wurstsalat Screenshot-worthy-odd? ;)
  4. andy wait ;)
  5. andy I think emoji are not rendered propertly
  6. andy This is like emoji picker looks when I click on an emoji button:
  7. andy https://share.czerniak.info.pl/andrzej/ImLxkNtE2j6ztNWY/emoji2.png
  8. andy Oh now
  9. andy this is when I use Ctrl + .
  10. andy and now when I click on an emoji button
  11. andy https://share.czerniak.info.pl/andrzej/S4CyuAo6QwpzBVOg/emoji_picker_default.png
  12. andy Alt + M not working (Windows 10 + Gajim nightly from 20.08.2019)
  13. andy Maybe this to menu are different?
  14. wurstsalat Your first screenshot is the gtk integrated picker (ctrl+.), second is gajims picker. Are you sure you focused the text input while pressing Alt+M?
  15. wurstsalat To render emojis correctly, you need the right font installed and set in Gajim's preferences
  16. wurstsalat noto-fonts *something
  17. wurstsalat noto-fonts-emoji
  18. wurstsalat ..and then you select them in Preferences > Design > Emojis

  21. andy > ‎[08:16:52] ‎wurstsalat‎: Your first screenshot is the gtk integrated picker (ctrl+.), second is gajims picker. Are you sure you focused the text input while pressing Alt+M? Yep.
  22. wurstsalat andy, you are on current master right? debug shows me this when pressing Alt+M (I) gajim.message_window Activate action: show-emoji-chooser, active control: JID
  23. andy wurstsalat, Gajim: 1.1.92 A GTK XMPP client GTK Version: 3.24.10 Wersja PyGTK: 3.32.2 python-nbxmpp Version: 0.9.91 builid from 20.08.2019
  24. wurstsalat and what does debug show for you?
  25. andy wurstsalat, run gajim-portable-debug and try to see if ive got something like You but now, there is nothing in console when I press Alt+M or Ctrl + . or even esc
  26. wurstsalat hm
  27. andy wurstsalat, this problem started few days ego
  28. andy later Alt+M works great.
  29. wurstsalat there were some changes regarding hotkey signals, maybe it's related
  30. andy but yesterday ALT+M works for a while at Gajim on windows
  31. andy in free time I make an issue for that

  36. lovetox the gtk picker uses an emoji font, and seems it does not support windows 10 colored emojis yet
  37. marmistrz lovetox, would it be possible to try to merge my trust change before 30th Aug?
  38. marmistrz (preferably also before 1.2.0 :))
  39. lovetox why?
  40. lovetox concerto, how can you search for a subject if you are not joined the muc and dont know the subject?
  41. lovetox but maybe describe what the subject is for you
  42. lovetox subject is something that can change daily
  43. lovetox im not sure how useful this is for a chat search as you would have to guess what the subject is at that day
  44. concerto lovetox: if we're using that search, we're online...can't you query bookmarks or something?
  45. concerto lovetox: and I don't mean just the subject, but also the name/title/etc
  46. marmistrz lovetox, (1) so that the trust behavior doesn't change from 1.2.0 to something (2) I may be offline for some part of September
  47. marmistrz So I'd prefer to have it finished until the end of August
  48. lovetox marmistrz, i doubt there will be a release in september
  49. lovetox concerto, maybe you describe the info you are missing
  50. lovetox the subject is not in the bookmarks
  51. lovetox subject is something an admin can set on a room
  52. lovetox its not possible to query it
  53. lovetox you have to join the room to see it
  54. concerto lovetox: title, I meant the title
  55. concerto s/subject/title/g
  56. lovetox ah yes i push a update today for that
  57. concerto sweet :)
  58. lovetox but we will show bookmark name > muc title > localpart of jid
  59. lovetox so you can only search for title if you dont have a custom bookmark name set
  60. concerto Hm...
  61. concerto lovetox: and Gajim auto-updates the bookmark title too, right?
  62. bot Daniel Brötzmann closed an issue in _gajim_ < https://dev.gajim.org/gajim/gajim/issues/9801 >: #9801: < Custom connection host/port does not apply to file transfer host/port >
  63. lovetox no why?
  64. lovetox and to what?
  65. lovetox bookmark name is a custom name for a room that overrules all, and the user can set it if he likes

  68. lovetox ok it should be now bookmark name > muc title > jid everywhere
  69. Neustradamus lovetox: SCRAM-SHA-1-PLUS and SCRAM-SHA-256(-PLUS) have been added in Gajim 1.1.1?
  70. Neustradamus Because there are no informations in Gajim README...
  71. lovetox because its added in nbxmpp
  72. Neustradamus Yes but the good nbxmpp has been update for 1.1.1?
  73. lovetox 1.1.1 is compatible to the current nbxmpp
  74. lovetox so whatever your current distribution ships
  75. lovetox ah Neustradamus actually i made a mistake
  76. lovetox no current released nbxmpp does not support SHA-256
  77. lovetox only the current development version
  78. lovetox and it will not be compatible with gajim 1.1 branch, so at the earliest gajim 1.2 will have that
  79. Neustradamus Mistake? :'(
  80. Neustradamus When 1.2 will be released?
  81. lovetox the mistake was telling you that current nbxmpp support it
  82. lovetox dont know when its ready
  83. asterix just got this TB in OMEMO plugin (I started a chat, then got the key dialogs, then I closed it and re-sent the message

  87. ValdikSS Hello, a found a small but annoying bug in OMEMO, in PEP data. https://conference.gajim.org:5281/pastebin/1cbb6b8c-e987-45ed-be28-44a241a00845
  88. lovetox its not a bug, the model thing was not a thing back then
  89. ValdikSS lovetox, what do you mean? Which model?
  90. lovetox yeah you can try to fix it in 1.1.3
  91. lovetox the access model
  92. lovetox most servers support that only in most recent versions
  93. ValdikSS You mean PEP access model in general or OMEMO access model?
  94. lovetox pep access model
  95. lovetox no sorry
  96. ValdikSS Should it be fixed on the server in the first place?
  97. lovetox as i said most servers support it now in the most *recent* version
  98. lovetox supplying node configuration via options
  99. lovetox is a feature, that servers have to implement
  100. lovetox they do it now
  101. ValdikSS I scrolled through PEP XEP and I think it says that all the data should be open by default, which in case of mod_pep of Prosody is not so
  102. lovetox but 6 months ago they did not
  103. lovetox either way, you can try adding it to the plugin
  104. Zash No, the default is for PEP data to be accessible to your contacts only
  105. Zash This was always the default
  106. ValdikSS Yes right
