Gajim - 2019-07-18

  1. andy I wanted to try Gajim Nightly on windows machine. I have downloaded this version https://gajim.org/downloads/snap/win/Gajim-Portable-Master-64bit-2019-07-18.exe, then I have install it on ma disk in a different folder. After this I have copy UserData folder into nightly installation root folder and now Gajim is not recignizing plugins. Where is the problem?

After this I have copy UserData (from my stable installation) folder into nightly installation root folder and now Gajim is not recignizing plugins. Where is the problem?
  3. wurstsalat you need nightly plugins as well. be aware: you cannot switch bach and forth between stable and nightly
  4. wurstsalat back*
  5. andy wurstsalat: thx.
  6. andy wurstsalat, when I copy UserData folder into Nightly OMEMO device id will not be changed?
  7. wurstsalat I don't think so
  8. andy btw, nightly 1.1.92 looks a lot better than stable ;) I see nice UX fixes for joining MUC and other stuff. Good job.
  9. andy If I wnated to join a existing muc room and I dont have it bookmarked, I will click "Gajim -> Create Group Chat" window and type name of that room yes?
  10. wurstsalat nice to hear that!
  11. wurstsalat no, you click "start chat" and paste the groupchat's address
  12. andy Its more stable, react quicker than stable version ;)
  13. andy thx

  17. andy How Can I disable showing my own status change in muc conversation window? (Gajim 1.1.92)
  18. EmleyMoor Any chance gajim's handling of big rosters will improve?
  19. wurstsalat EmleyMoor: what's the problem? Slow?
  20. EmleyMoor wurstsalat, Not completing group chat autojoins when roster is large
  21. EmleyMoor (machine spec dependent)
  22. wurstsalat Have you mentioned this before in this group chat?
  23. lovetox what do you mean they are not completed?
  24. wurstsalat andy, chat settings > show status changes doesn't work?
  25. lovetox of course if you join 100 group chats this will take time
  26. lovetox but it should eventually complete
  27. andy > [14:42:20] ‎wurstsalat‎: andy, chat settings > show status changes doesn't work? Its off.
  28. EmleyMoor lovetox, It's due to the quantity of Facebook users (via a gateway) in my roster, causing the process to stop short of the bookmarks being fetched across. Mentioned weeks ago - manifested on my laptop first
  29. andy wurstsalat, its show only my status change.
  30. lovetox andy, i have to look into it, maybe i forgot the own status change
  31. andy wurstsalat, maybe problem occurs beacuse I have copypast userdata folder from stable to nightly?
  32. lovetox no andy
  33. andy This status logs only appear in muc rooms, not in 1:1 conversations.
  34. andy btw, do you plan render conversation window using a "web browser" like Miranda and IEView (https://wiki.miranda-ng.org/index.php?title=Plugin:IEView/en)?
  35. andy This would allow to have nice styles in conversation window :)
  36. lovetox no
  37. andy :(
  38. wurstsalat andy, there are improvements planned, but nothing involving just another layer of processing
  39. andy hmmm, but it can be done using a plugin AIP?
  40. andy hmmm, but it can be done using a plugin API?
  41. wurstsalat don't know what you mean. but there are GTK-native ways to make the conversation display nicer.
  42. andy wurstsalat: if Gajim allow plugins to change look and feel of conversation window them someone can make a plug-in for it. Something similar to IEView for Miranda. Bo if GTK can make it look better, maybe in this way it will be better?
  43. andy Btw it is possible to make something like this?
  44. andy https://share.czerniak.info.pl/andrzej/4YdfGAllgBCkPHFa/blackshadow_for_ieview_by_ethsza_d32hma6-pre.jpg
  45. wurstsalat gajim already allows plugins to modify the conversation view to a certain degree. a redesign of the conversation view is planned, but this needs time. as for your example: you'd have to be a bit more specific ;)
  46. lovetox you can style GTK via css
  47. lovetox look at gajim.css
  48. lovetox but its much work :)
  49. zinid > do you plan render conversation window using a "web browser" like Miranda and IEView (https://wiki.miranda-ng.org/index.php?title=Plugin:IEView/en) right, to make Gajim eating RAM and melting CPU
  50. Eduard Without needed
