Gajim - 2019-05-15

  1. bot Daniel Brötzmann proposed a new merge request for _gajim/master_ < https://dev.gajim.org/gajim/gajim/merge_requests/442 >: Move and rework DoubleInputDialog to DeleteMucDialog
  2. tnww hi folks
  3. tnww it lookes like the plugin installer dose not work out here do to the firewall
  4. tnww so where can i download the plugins to install manually?
  5. tnww thanks in advance
  6. ta https://dev.gajim.org/gajim/gajim-plugins/tree/gajim_1.1
  7. ta >You can also clone the repository directly from our Git and copy it to: ...
  8. ta i posted the link to gajim 1.1 plugins. You need to check with your gajim version, which repo branch to clone.
  9. tnww cant i just download the one zip file?
  10. tnww on which url dose the plugin installer listens for plugins?
  11. ta tnww: of course you can "clone" that link by downloading the zip file look for the cloud icon in the top right (with download arrow).
  12. ta https://dev.gajim.org/gajim/gajim-plugins/-/archive/gajim_1.1/gajim-plugins-gajim_1.1.zip <-- in case of gajim 1.1
  13. tnww no, i dont want to download all plugins but only the omemo...
  14. ta though, you wont get upgrades automatically that way
  15. tnww i now have done it, extracted only the omemo and put it back into zip (twice) no ill try to install
  16. ta why did you put it in a zip file. just put that omemo folder in your gajim-plugin-folder according to your operating system
  17. ta ?
  18. wurstsalat tnww, please install the plugin_installer as well. otherwise you won't receive updates
  19. ta wurstsalat, therefore the plugin_installer needs to get through the firewall.
  20. wurstsalat ah, didn't read up on the whole story, sorry
  21. ta but yeah, bootstrapping with plugininstaller and fixing the firewall situation would be the best way. maybe go through tor?
  22. tnww wurstsalat, no problem
  23. tnww maybe there is a way to add another CA to gajim (or its plugin istaller) then it will be able to go through the firewall...
  24. tnww ill take a brake for now, and try to install the created zips manually afterwards, thanks for the help so far
  25. ta tnww: install created zips? unpacking the folder structure in your plugin folder should be enough.
  26. tnww ive only seen this plugin install gui
  27. tnww ill try that before going throuh all that %something% stuff to find it here
  28. tnww i know, in linux ist all quite easy, but here i just stick with the gui
  29. tnww ;)

  33. bot Daniel Brötzmann updated a merge request for _gajim/master_ < https://dev.gajim.org/gajim/gajim/merge_requests/442 >: Move and rework DoubleInputDialog to DestroyMucDialog
  34. lovetox tnww, https://ftp.gajim.org/plugins_1.1_zip/
  35. lovetox marmistrz, im not sure what you need all that log tweaking for
  36. lovetox simply use -v
  37. lovetox yields for every mam message
  38. lovetox https://paste.gajim.org/view/30a7afef
  39. lovetox info from what archiv the message is received, info if and with what timestamp the message was inserted into the database
  40. lovetox and if you want to see the content the full stanzas is also in the log
  41. RonUL_ lovetox, if it comes to user/password for socks5 they can be random. It is important because if we use it toe creates a unique circuit for every connection. I think the newer version of gajim should be better than older ;)
  42. lovetox RonUL_, not sure what you mean by random
  43. RonUL_ i.e 1. user: hgahgad, password: hgahgafd
  44. lovetox are you sying you can auth to a tor proxy with a random username and password?
  45. RonUL_ yes
  46. RonUL_ for every proxy
  47. RonUL_ 1 proxy for one xmpp address
  48. lovetox that makes absolutly no sense, i have a vpn proxy and i have to auth with my username and password definied by my vpn provider
  49. lovetox and not some random username and password
  50. RonUL_ i am talking about tor
  51. RonUL_ not bpn
  52. RonUL_ vpn
  53. lovetox you said, "every proxy"
  54. lovetox which is not Tor
  55. RonUL_ i.e proxy: server: 127.0.0.1, port 9050, user: ayghgafhaf, password: hgahgad
  56. RonUL_ one circuit
  57. RonUL_ 2 proxy: server: 127.0.0.1, port 9050, user: hdAHGF password: ahgdjKJD
  58. RonUL_ second circuit
  59. RonUL_ but it doesnt work in 1.1.2
  60. RonUL_ but it works with 0.16.6 :)))
  61. lovetox let me check
  62. lovetox indeed RonUL_ there is a bug with proxy auth in nbxmpp
  63. RonUL_ lovetox, :(
  64. RonUL_ lovetox, thx for checking
  65. marmistrz lovetox, 'cause it's the only way I can debug the MAM issues :)
  66. marmistrz I want to verify if (a) the messages are not received by Gajim or (b) the messages are correctly received by Gajim but are not stored or displayed
  67. marmistrz I've already verified, that I force (by mam_id hacks) the MAM query on sign in to ask for last 7 days, then the missing messages aren't displayed (and they should)
  68. lovetox what information did you miss ?
  69. lovetox in the logs is printed with what jid and timestamp the message is written to the dabase
  70. lovetox so first verify that its written with the correct jid
  71. lovetox 2. verify that the timestamp is really the day you are searching for that message
  72. lovetox it could be a timestamp problem, and gajim takes the wrong timestamp so you will find that message on some other day and not where you search it
  73. lovetox if the jid is correct, the history window should show that message
  74. lovetox because the history window querys all messages from a jid
  75. lovetox just maybe that the wrong timestamps fucks up the order
  76. marmistrz lovetox, the messages ARE fetched from MAM
  77. marmistrz but they are not displayed
  78. marmistrz https://conference.gajim.org:5281/pastebin/709dc9b7-e241-4e76-9098-e83e8b05a690
  79. marmistrz One of the missing messages is *precisely* from 13th May, 12:06
  80. marmistrz that's this very message that is fetch by gajim but not displayed for some reason
  81. marmistrz there's nothing more in the logs about this message, gajim goes on processing further messages
  82. lovetox there is
  83. lovetox i posted you a log from a mam message
  84. lovetox there is a full stanza
  85. lovetox there is a log line about database insertion
  86. lovetox 15.05.2019 18:26:41 (I) gajim.c.logger | Insert into DB: jid: lovetox@temptatio.dev, time: 1557937586.918223, kind: 4, stanza_id: 1557937586918223
  87. marmistrz lovetox, I have no 'Insert into DB' in my logs
  88. lovetox so post me the full stanza
  89. marmistrz lovetox, how do I get a full stanza from nbxmpp.protocol.Message?
  90. marmistrz I tried just printing event_attrs:
  91. marmistrz https://conference.gajim.org:5281/pastebin/b952a954-0df4-4ea2-a951-179700ed390e
  92. marmistrz Hmmm, that 'msgtxt': None is weird
  93. marmistrz And that's the log for all the stanzas around 12:06
  94. marmistrz https://conference.gajim.org:5281/pastebin/8c530352-87fb-42cc-882f-57e173d24c5c
  95. lovetox marmistrz, are you aware that not every <message> is a text message?
  96. lovetox what you are showing me here are probably chatmarkers
  97. lovetox but hard to say as you dont show the full stanzas
  98. marmistrz lovetox, I didn't. But even though, the stanzas properites.mam.timestamp aligns with the time when I sent/received messages with this contact
  99. lovetox of course they align
  100. lovetox if your contact looks at the phone the client instantly replys with a "displayed" chatmarker
  101. marmistrz More weirdness: if I launch gajim, I get connected automatically. I tried to quickly become offline, so that I have the time to look at the xml console
  102. lovetox why do you need to be fast? you can apply a incoming message filter in the xml console
  103. lovetox you connect wait until the xml console halts
  104. lovetox and copy the content into a text editor
  105. marmistrz So I set my availability to offline
  106. marmistrz opened the console
  107. lovetox where you can slowly look through all messages
  108. marmistrz became available again
  109. marmistrz surprise, surprise: the MAM fetch logs show that they were received only halfway, up to 20150508
  110. marmistrz repeat: I was quicker this time, so I have no MAM logs about this contact at all
  111. marmistrz it looks to me like the MAM fetch doesn't happen if I go offline and online again
  112. marmistrz lovetox: ^
  113. lovetox are you saying you go offline before the mam catchup happens and then be suprised there are no messages?
  114. marmistrz lovetox: online -> offline -> online.
  115. marmistrz I'd expect the MAM sync to happen when I go online again
  116. marmistrz I'm going offline in the middle of the sync
  117. bot Сергей Ильиных created an issue in _gajim_ < https://dev.gajim.org/gajim/gajim/issues/9701 >: #9701: < Jingle S5B proxy candidates sent with transport-info are handled wrong >
  118. marmistrz In other words: I expect the sync to happen twice, because I go online twice. it happens only once
  119. lovetox yeah thats a bug
  120. marmistrz lovetox, I worked it around by disabling the account and then starting gajim
  121. marmistrz Here are the stanzas corresponding to the last message I sent from Conversations and that is missing
  122. marmistrz https://conference.gajim.org:5281/pastebin/70695848-31ab-43de-9f4e-4ed3946526dd
  123. marmistrz The _mam_message_received handler is executed for the first two of them, but *not* for the last one
  124. marmistrz i.e. the last stanza seems not to be processed at all
  125. lovetox hard to help if you always send snippets of logs
  126. marmistrz lovetox, should I send the full logs and the full XML console?
  127. lovetox logs, you can also send it to me via pm
  128. bot Philipp Hörist pushed 1 commit to branch _refs/heads/master_ of _gajim_ < https://dev.gajim.org/gajim/gajim >: *ac4bde04* < https://dev.gajim.org/gajim/gajim/commit/ac4bde0447a5553d6a2515a8eac664806ccce03a > MAM: Always reset state on reconnect It was not reset if the previous MAM query was interrupted because of a disconnect
