  9. bot Daniel Brötzmann modified an issue in _gajim_ < >: #9655: < Permit copying error messages >
  10. bot Daniel Brötzmann updated a merge request for _gajim/master_ < >: WIP: Rework contact info
  11. wurstsalat I added a vCard query button in AddContact and it seems to work afaict. Not so easy to test without JIDs I do _not_ have in my roster though..
  12. lovetox so you need jids?
  13. lovetox try
  14. pep. lovetox, btw, can you test requesting time against
  15. wurstsalat lovetox, would be nice if there was something in the vCard to see. didn't test if there is, if so, ignore :)
  16. lovetox yeah i filled it
  17. lovetox though no avatar
  18. lovetox ok now i have also an avatar
  19. wurstsalat Nice, thank you! I'll test later
  20. pep. lovetox, ok I'll try by myself, maybe I forgot to update the lib locally :-°
  21. pep. Wait, it works here? OUT <iq type="get" to="" id="c9dee53e-0bca-4a89-9ff9-3a40b8b0d5ff-748DF"><time xmlns="urn:xmpp:time" /></iq> IN <iq type="result" id="c9dee53e-0bca-4a89-9ff9-3a40b8b0d5ff-748DF" to="" from=""><time xmlns="urn:xmpp:time"><tzo>+00:00</tzo><utc>2019-04-06T11:15:45Z</utc></time></iq>
  22. lovetox thats another client or resource?
  23. lovetox pep. it still does not work with this resource
  24. lovetox
  25. lovetox what is this anyway, you get a stanza and in the from attr is a bare jid?
  26. raver Hi, does anyone know how I can save the chat message window size and prevent gajim from opening chat message window on startup?
  27. lovetox how is this even possible
  28. lovetox does the server answer the request for you?
  29. pep. lovetox, it's the only resource online
  30. MattJ iq to bare JID is always handled by the server
  31. lovetox that does not matter, a server should always add the resource to the from
  32. MattJ always
  33. pep. hmm
  34. lovetox ok thanks MattJ for clearing this up
  35. pep. Ok so I'm requesting to the wrong person
  36. Nikky hi, i am having a issue in gajim on windows that i am not having on dino or conversations i am unable to join some rooms the xml console prints out: `Server-to-server connection failed: host-unknown (This host does not serve`
  37. MattJ That error comes from your server
  38. lovetox can you share the full jid you try to join
  39. Nikky note that the same accoutn on my linux laptop using dino can use the server just fine
  40. Nikky *account
  41. Nikky
  42. lovetox i think there is something missing
  43. lovetox like the irc server
  44. lovetox i look for the correct syntax i always forget it
  45. Nikky could be, the admin said everything looks fine on their side
  46. MattJ Nikky, do you admin your own server?
  47. Nikky ? no
  48. Nikky and neither do i admin lain
  49. MattJ I'm not sure how Gajim could be involved with this issue
  50. lovetox lain, what channel on what irc server do you want to join
  51. Nikky anyways.. the closest admin is in australia.. so i guess i will get back to this later thanks to timezones
  52. lovetox Nikky, what channel on what irc server do you want to join
  53. lovetox channel should be #lain its obvious
  54. lovetox but on what irc server?
  55. MattJ lovetox, I suspect that gateway is hard-coded to a specific IRC server, most IRC gateways can do that
  56. Nikky i already joined it.. it just fails to connect on gajim apparently, but maybe its actually down, i dunno
  57. MattJ But this error string is a Prosody s2s error
  58. MattJ I can ping that host over s2s from my server fine
  59. MattJ The client that sent the stanza to that domain shouldn't have any effect on whether s2s succeeds or fails
  60. lovetox except if the jid is wrong
  61. MattJ True, if the host part of the JID is wrong
  62. Nikky trying to rejoin on dino.. it seems liek its also timing out
  63. MattJ But the host part of the JID is included in the error message
  64. MattJ and it works
  65. lovetox yeah
  66. Nikky gajin just actually errored the other ones jsut silently failed
  67. MattJ Nikky, then it's definitely an issue with your server or theirs, that makes more sense
  68. Nikky yeah i will forward it to the admin
  69. Nikky thanks for the help
  70. MattJ I'm not sure which one is to blame, but sounds like the DNS is possibly wrong somewhere
  71. Nikky or the linked irc died
  72. MattJ has 3 IP addresses in DNS
  73. MattJ it seems
  74. MattJ So the admin of that server would need to make sure all of those IP addresses are going to a working Prosody instance that has an '' component configured
  75. MattJ Otherwise it would cause exactly this error (sometimes)
  76. Nikky seems like someone added a dns round robin
  77. pep. lovetox, can you try again?
  78. pep. Apparently that was done on purpose
  79. lovetox yeah works now
  80. pep. :)
  81. bot siccegge created an issue in _gajim_ < >: #9656: < "programming error" related to adhoc commands (biboumi) >
  82. bot Jonny Rimkus created an issue in _gajim_ < >: #9657: < opened irc chat with large user list >
  83. raver it was the #ubuntu channel with 1400+ users
  84. raver ...and with biboumi
  85. lovetox thats a mam error
  86. lovetox it has nothing to do with the count of users
  87. lovetox can you reproduce it?
  88. raver Not really, guess biboumi isn't that stable. I've got many reconnects but haven't figured out the root of the cause
  89. raver Isn't important
  90. raver I guess
  91. raver The rest is cool I really like Gajim keep up the cool work
  92. lovetox thanks
  93. pep. raver, it'd be great if you could report the error to biboumi if there is one
  94. pep. It's pretty "stable" for me, whatever that means
  95. raver I get the feeling it reconnects every channel whenever leaving or joining a channel regardless of the server it runs on
  96. raver But I'm not sure
  97. raver Will do
  98. pep. Thanks
