  1. goivari hello everyone, tell me for some reason the low file transfer rate on the local network, do not know where it can be configured?
  2. goivari Sometimes even it is not possible to transfer the file ...
  3. lovetox are you sure you transferring with direct transfer?
  4. lovetox instead of uploading it to the server
  5. goivari are you sure you transferring with direct transfer? - yes
  6. lovetox On what OS?
  7. goivari server - prosody 11 -debian9
  8. goivari client - gajim)
  9. goivari clients os - windows
  10. lovetox could well be that filetransfer is just that slow on Windows, never tested it, you can open an issue if you want
  11. goivari how and where to do it?

  21. Norst Hello, I also notice that direct file transfer is slow on Windows, and can add few words
  22. Norst Seems like goivari didn't open an issue?
  23. lovetox no he did not

  26. raver Hi, I've got a problem with gajim on ubuntu mate, When I launch gajim it eats up 40% of cpu usage, and CPU Usage of ejabberd increases to 60% I Use biboumi as irc bridge, and when I opened the xml console I saw that gajim sends old irc message over and over again...
  27. raver Version is 1.1.2+366b3df23
  28. wurstsalat asterix, would you mind pulling the translations for gajim master from pootle, so that we have more recent translations in master?

  31. jjrh Is there some trick for the omemo plugin to let you trust a key? One person their key shows up as 'undecided', I click hte lock thing look for a untrusted key and it doesn't show up.

  35. lovetox raver, update biboumi
  36. lovetox older versions have a endless loop of mam requests
  37. raver mom i check my version
  38. raver but with dinoIM all is fine...
  39. lovetox you can also supply the stanzas that get sent over and over
  40. lovetox then i can take a look
  41. lovetox jjrh, i dont understand the issue
  42. raver oh ok ubuntu repo version is 7.2 and current is 8.3
  43. lovetox a key shows up as undecided, but then you go and look for a untrusted key?
  44. jjrh yes
  45. lovetox but why, you should look for a undecided key
  46. jjrh Sorry - look for a not trusted key in the list and all are trusted.
  47. lovetox but where did it then show up as undecided?
  48. jjrh In the message window - there is a little shield that is orange I hover it and it says "trust not decided"
  49. raver is there a repo with current version for ubuntu 18.04?
  50. lovetox raver the issue i talked about is fixed in version 8.0
  51. raver thanks 🙂
  52. jjrh I suppose I should menttion, this is running gajim and gajim plugins from master
  53. lovetox ok dont trust the tooltip
  54. lovetox if you dont have a real problem
  55. lovetox i look into why it does say that
  56. jjrh no no sorry I should have gone back further - messages I send show omemo errors for the recipient
  57. jjrh my assumption based on the UI is that the key isn't actually trusted.
  58. lovetox hm activte the show inactive device button
  59. lovetox int he fingerprint window
  60. jjrh actually hold up - I think the key is trusted
  61. lovetox what version of the plugin are you using?
  62. lovetox jjrh ah i get it now
  63. lovetox you mean beside the message the shield?
  64. lovetox it means you received a message from a not decided key
  65. lovetox but if you trust it afterwards the undecided will not go away
  66. jjrh ahh okay
  67. lovetox because that message was at that point undecided
  68. lovetox it basically shows you the trust at that point in time and records it
  69. jjrh ahh okay.
  70. jjrh weird - so what I did was delete the fingerprint then it showed up untrused and readded it and now things are wroking - he can receive my messages
  71. lovetox hm that resets the session
  72. lovetox so yes should always work as a last way
  73. jjrh good to know.
  74. jjrh thanks :)
  75. Norst https://dev.gajim.org/gajim/gajim/issues/9651 - do I need just check "Enable debug logging" or configure via command line --loglevel?
  76. lovetox enable debug should work
  77. lovetox but you have to restart
  78. lovetox logs are in %APPDATA%/Gajim/debug
  79. lovetox but dont forget to disable it later, it will take a lot of space otherwise
  80. Norst ok. Is there a way to prefer SI over Jingle as "quick fix"?
  81. lovetox no and thats not the problem
  82. lovetox jingle and SI are only negotiations for the actual transport used
  83. lovetox if you try to send logs i maybe figure out why its slow and fix it, then you can use nightly
  84. Norst lovetox, i have attached logs to the issue
  85. lovetox thanks i take a look later
  86. Norst I am really missing this feature: https://dev.gajim.org/gajim/gajim/issues/8864 And it looks like not a big deal to implement. So I am willing to take on the task, but i have a few concerns/questions
  87. Norst 1) Creating (simple) confirmation UI. Could you point me out to existing UI element in gajim, that i can use as basis? I know nothing about gtk.
  88. lovetox here a reference of Gtk https://lazka.github.io/pgi-docs/#Gtk-3.0
  89. lovetox for a confirmation dialog grep the codebase for NewConfirmationDialog
  90. lovetox or anything in the gtk/dialogs module
  91. Norst 2) After some digging, I found that file transfer classes use str (path to file) as input. So I see 2 ways: a) use temp file (easy, but ugly) b) do some refactoring, so file-like object can be used as input.
  92. Norst What do you think about it?
  93. lovetox a clipboard does not copy the file
  94. lovetox it just copys the path to it
  95. lovetox so you should be fine
  96. lovetox here the docs https://lazka.github.io/pgi-docs/#Gtk-3.0/classes/Clipboard.html
  97. lovetox ok i see if you copy a image then it stores it also as pixbuf
  98. lovetox but i really woudl use the uri method
  99. Norst You misunderstood my question. From Gtk.Clipboard i will get PixBuf, i.e. in-memory representation. After that, i have 2 ways...
  100. Norst a) write image (from PixBuf) to temp file, get file path, pass it to gajim file transfer class, wait, remove temp file
  101. Norst b) convert PixBuf to in-memory file-like object, pass it to gajim file transfer class. So some refactoring is needed.
  102. Norst Or i misunderstood your answer... Do you mean that "a)" is preferred?
  103. lovetox no a is not preferred
  104. lovetox hm but it would be way easier to implement
  105. Norst "a) use temp file (easy, but ugly)" :)
  106. lovetox yeah go for it
  107. lovetox its not that ugly :) many applications write many tempfiles
  108. lovetox have to go, gn8
