Gajim - 2019-02-15

  1. wurstsalat No :D other way round: I type ta and hope it expands it so I know what it means
  2. bot Daniel Brötzmann modified an issue in _gajim_ < https://dev.gajim.org/gajim/gajim/issues/9548 >: #9548: < Revise text strings >
  3. ta offtopic: wurstsalat, ta is are rather uninteresting initials, but it is used in xsf regularly meaning "tanks alot" and i get confused, why i was mentioned ;-)
  4. fm ta, btw, since you showed interest yesterday in windows support for the syntax highlighting plugin: I had a look at it in the evening, but did not have time to share my results ;)
  5. fm i tried installing pygments via pip, which works fine
  6. fm adding the install path to the search path for python works, too
  7. fm so, i started creating a new config window, shown only when used with windows and no pygments installed. It allows you to specify the install path easily (without messing with the code) and permanently, as it is saved in the plugin's config.
  8. wurstsalat ta, I see! Tanks alot :D alots are really cute
  9. wurstsalat fm, so much effort!
  10. fm wurstsalat, np ;)
  11. ta i am forced to use windows on my work machine and like gajim a lot, hence my interest. can i somehow test it without breaking my nice chocolatey setup for package management.
  12. ta i prefer not to install to much by hand on this machine. stupid windows ;-)
  13. wurstsalat Pygments via pip? https://chocolatey.org/packages/pip
  14. fm well, you don't need to "install" pygments, cloning their repo should be enough, i think (will test as soon as my vm has completed updates)....
  15. fm > stupid windows ;-) agree
  16. ta pygments is not my main concern. i would use pip. This windows behaviour of installing is bad anyway, son other package manager is not the problem ;-)
  17. ta mainly i mean how to get the plugin working? is it still possible with 1.1.2 or do i need to get some dev or 1.2 dev branch working?
  18. fm ta, if you want it right now, I can tell you what to fix in the code. This will work until the update (with that windows path config thing) is done, i.e. maybe tonight. Gajim 1.1.2 works, the plugin is not yet in dev (or rather master)
  19. ta i don't know about the branches of gajim that much. Until now i just use it on this windows machine and at home with arch linux. But it seems to be a rather busy work day, so i am not able to try it out at the moment.
  20. Link Mauve ta, “ta” actually just means “thanks”, especially in the UK where it’s used alot.
  21. Link Mauve (I too love alots, but they aren’t present in every expression. :p)
  22. ta searched a lot and found a lot of alots
  23. ta opens primary school english book
  24. bot Philipp Hörist pushed 1 commit to branch _refs/heads/gajim_1.1_ of _gajim_ < https://dev.gajim.org/gajim/gajim >: *bf9aed69* < https://dev.gajim.org/gajim/gajim/commit/bf9aed69fe6384772ea4ab849a54881b4498547a > Windows: Add pygments to build (cherry picked from commit 5059f72373a1109216178cb7593fd26ea56ed372)
  25. stp Hey guys, I just updated the OMEMO plugin but after re-starting Gajim it wasn't active anymore. In the plugin manager is give the following error message:
  26. stp Warning: Error: cannot import name 'is_error_result' from 'nbxmpp.util' (C:\Programme (standalone)\Gajim\lib\python3.7\site-packages\nbxmpp\util.pyc)
  27. lovetox you have to update nbxmpp too
  28. lovetox if you are on dev branches you always have to update Gajim/nbxmpp/plugins at the same time
  29. lovetox stp
  30. lovetox as this looks like windows, you have to install just the current nightly
  31. stp lovetox‎, ok, you already answered the next question I would've had. :-)
  32. stp I'll update Gajim now
  33. stp Ok, OMEMO plugin is working again. What exactly was improved though, I can't find a changelog.
  34. bot Philipp Hörist pushed 1 commit to branch _refs/heads/master_ of _python-nbxmpp_ < https://dev.gajim.org/gajim/python-nbxmpp >: *8d4f759d* < https://dev.gajim.org/gajim/python-nbxmpp/commit/8d4f759d525a308f35e4585c43917c6bcd70606a > Fix hash namespace
  35. ta what nightly windows installer would i want to use on my 1.1.2 stable installation?
  36. stp ta‎, is your stable a portable installation?
  37. ta i would have to check, but i think not. usually chocolatey uses "normal" installers.
  38. ta 'https://gajim.org/downloads/1.1/gajim-1.1.2-64bits-1.exe' <-- so probably not portable.
  39. ta then again, the interesting commits were just included. I can check next monday on windows ( fm )
  40. lovetox ta https://gajim.org/downloads/snap/win/
  41. lovetox build is at 4am in the morning usually
  42. ta Yeah, thats why i said to try it on monday. But maybe i find time to try linux nightlies. I am quite intrigued by the plugin.
  43. fm ta: Yeah, its also very busy here, they all need their stuff done "before weekend" -.-
  44. fm had no time to check till now...
  45. fm lovetox, thanks, you are awesome :)
  46. ta no hurry

  56. Marzanna Hello. I get many errors when I start Gajim. They look the same https://paste.ubuntu.com/p/BvzksFDjYK/
  57. debacle Marzanna, which gajim, which nbxmpp?
  58. debacle (versions, installation channel?)
  59. Marzanna debacle, Gajim 1.1.91.1+1f5be6cb0, python-nbxmpp Version: 0.9.90.4 Installed from gajim debian repository

  61. lovetox Marzanna would be interested in the xml console when this happens or -v output
  62. lovetox right before these exceptions
  63. lovetox and please be sure you use the newest nbxmpp
  64. lovetox i think this is a issue of not upto date nbxmpp
  65. lovetox this seems impossible with current code
  66. lovetox hm no not impossible, but really interested why this happens, maybe you can provide the stanza from the log
