  12. eduard Well, after of the multiple disagreements about using Signal or Threema for messaging, thought that it tweet will be more agreed https://twitter.com/Edu4rdSHL/status/1080879724149248006, I'm also a fan/long user of XMPP 👌

  22. js lovetox: have you considered using TOFU for OMEMO? Gajim seems to be the only client that does not do it and would rather send unencrypted messages.
  23. lovetox i have considererd it but no time to implement it
  24. lovetox and Gajim does not send unencrypted
  25. pvoigt I would like to see when someone is typing in MUC. Under "Preferences->Personal Events-> Chat State Notification" I have "All chat states" Is that sufficient or am I searching wrong settings? My Gajim is latest gajim-nightly.
  26. lovetox pvoigt, no Gajim has no indication for that in MUC
  27. js lovetox: I get a message encrypted with OMEMO, and Gajim, without warning, responds unencrypted, because the key of the other party is not trusted
  28. pvoigt lovetox, thanks. But does it work in two-person-chats?
  29. lovetox yes
  30. js pvoigt: MUC does not specify typing indications
  31. pvoigt lovetox, thanks.
  32. js might also be quite spammy ;)
  33. pvoigt js, ah OK, recently saw that Conversations somehow manges it. That's why I have asked.
  34. ta lovetox: i like the way gajom presents the list with keys to decide wether to trust or not.
  35. pvoigt js, right, can live without it;-)
  36. lovetox js thats a different thing, you saying you want Gajim to switch to encrypted once it receives an encrypted message
  37. js pvoigt: Oh? Interesting. Maybe they just took the XEP and applied it to MUC as well? :) But AFAIK, it has not been written with that in mind
  38. lovetox But who says the user wants to respond encrypted always? maybe the contact has a device without omemo, and you want to send a message that this device can read
  39. js lovetox: Well, yes and no. I cannot even write encrypted before trusting the key. I would like to TOFU first, and then verify later.
  40. js and if the TOFU'd key does not match, there should be an error that the message could not be sent
  41. ta lovetox: if i send a message in an encrypted muc, new key available, trust key, will the sent message be sent and encryptet with the newly trustet key or does it affect only future messages?
  42. lovetox only future messages, which is also something i intend to fix
  43. ta Awesome!
  44. andrey.g ‎js, pvoigt‎, in logs I see many chat state changes from different MUCs, though Gajim doesn't display them. But they still are spammy and cannot be really disabled. A workaround is XEP-0319 (Idle), some part of which has been recently added to python-nbxmpp.
  45. lovetox how are chatstates and idle connected?
  46. lovetox the idle xep is about how long you have been idle
  47. lovetox chatstates are about if you currently compose a message
  48. lovetox btw andrey.g i think i just fixed the muc pm problem
  49. andrey.g Ah, I've confused it with XEP-0352 Client state notifications.
  50. andrey.g Ah, I've confused it with XEP-0352 Client state indication.
  51. andrey.g lovetox‎, will test once you commit.
