  3. lovetox nico i would actually propose you install a stable gajim version
  4. lovetox there is really nothing added in master thats worth to use it
  5. mrDoctorWho Traceback (most recent call last):
  6. Eduard Hello, I'm getting it
  7. Eduard Any idea why?

  10. mimi89999 I have `libgtk-3-0` `3.24.2-3`
  11. lovetox Eduard, happens if someone sends you xhtml i believe
  12. lovetox you can select "Ignore xhtml in preferences"
  13. lovetox this bug has been fixed and will be in the next release
  14. lovetox then open a issue here
  15. lovetox with your backtrace and reference maybe #1349
  16. lovetox it seems not exactly the same though related
  17. lovetox also there seems to be a env var WAYLAND_DEBUG=1
  18. lovetox maybe try this to get more info, mimi89999
  19. lovetox yeah run gajim with that debug flag in gdb
  20. lovetox and the backtrace we post then to gtk issue tracker
  21. andrey.g "The certificate expired on December 22, 2018, 7:54:17 AM GMT+1"

  23. daniel asterix, the site certificate for expired today
  24. lovetox he knows :)
  25. daniel Alright :)

  29. bot Daniel Brötzmann modified an issue in _gajim_ < >: #9508: < Installation on Debian 9 fails; instructions wrong >
  30. Eduard lovetox: I see, its a bit weird because it happen when i added another account to XMPP and start chating with the same user...
  31. Eduard I will try to ignore xhtml and see what happen
  32. bot Daniel Brötzmann modified an issue in _gajim_ < >: #9506: < OMEMO decrypted messages show fallback text in Gnome notifications >
  33. mrDoctorWho does gajim have plans to support xep-0333 chat markers?
  34. lovetox yeah its on the list for 1.2
  35. Ben > yeah its on the list for 1.2 Great :)
  36. mrDoctorWho that's good to know
  37. mrDoctorWho lovetox, did you see that nasty omemo error?
  38. lovetox ignore it if there is no problem
  39. mrDoctorWho there is
  40. mrDoctorWho the messages sent via carbons from conversations are not being decrypted
  41. lovetox then delete the fingerprint
  42. lovetox restart gajim and send a message to anyone
  43. lovetox then send another from conversations
  44. mrDoctorWho that doesn't seem to help
  45. lovetox then i need logs
  46. mrDoctorWho
  47. mrDoctorWho how is that message was sent from user to user?
  48. lovetox because its a carbon you received this message from the server
  49. mrDoctorWho hmm, ok, I didn't think carbons worked like that
  50. lovetox and what do the other lines say
  51. lovetox was it decrypted?
  52. mrDoctorWho I'll send you the log to email
  53. mrDoctorWho done
  54. mrDoctorWho I wouldn't have been suprized if the message was sent from me to me, but it was sent from a remote user to themselves, that kinda got me wondering
  55. mrDoctorWho has an expired certificate
  56. lovetox yes its known
  57. mrDoctorWho I have more logs, I've just cut off some lines
  58. lovetox and it didnt help that you deleted the fingerprint?
  59. lovetox are you sure you got the right one
  60. lovetox and its important that you write a message from Gajim first after you deleted the key and restarted
  61. mrDoctorWho I deleted the one I have in conversations
  62. mrDoctorWho let me try that again
  63. mrDoctorWho no, it doesn't help
  64. lovetox ok another thing
  65. lovetox delete the fingerprint, close the window
  66. lovetox then open it again
  67. lovetox look if its still there
  68. mrDoctorWho no it isn't there
  69. lovetox then do this now again, but send me the log on the first message you receive from conversations
  70. lovetox and maybe also the message you sent out
  71. mrDoctorWho should I firstly send a message from gajim?
  72. lovetox yes
  73. lovetox oh i forgot to say
  74. lovetox you have send 2 messages
  75. lovetox the first will trigger receiving the fingerprint
  76. lovetox then you have to trust it
  77. lovetox then send another message
  78. lovetox then answer from conversation
  79. lovetox i really have to rewrite that plugin :/
  80. mrDoctorWho First message:
  81. lovetox you do test this with another contact and not messaging yourself or?
  82. mrDoctorWho another contact
  83. lovetox can you send me the log to my email
  84. lovetox with everything in it from the first message on
  85. mrDoctorWho ok, let me do that again with full log
  86. lovetox carbons work differently then you see it here in the omemo log
  87. lovetox the message is wrapped in another message, but omemo doesnt print that
  88. lovetox mrDoctorWho, did you cut something in the middle from that last log?
  89. lovetox otherwise i found something weird
  90. yaomtc so instead of posting on that issue I figured I'd try coming here for help. Just fixed a certificate issue with my server, thinking that a lack of proper https was preventing file transfer from going through. Still getting errno 111 though.
  91. lovetox then open xml console upload some file, look at the traffic the server should send you a url
  92. lovetox post this url here
  93. lovetox or even better, look at your server logs
  94. yaomtc Gonna try port forwarding on 5281 next, since prosody's log
  95. yaomtc says it's using that port
  96. lovetox connection refused, means the server refused the connection, so there has to be a log entry why
  97. yaomtc okay so having set up port forwarding for that port, I now get a different error when trying to file transfer
  99. yaomtc though Firefox sees the certificate as valid when I browse the site so... hmmm
  100. yaomtc it's a Let's Encrypt cert that I just made a few minutes ago
  101. lovetox you have to configure the server to send the whole certificate chain
  102. lovetox not just the cert you have
  103. lovetox all intermediates have to be also sent
  104. lovetox only the root cert is stored on the client
  105. yaomtc hmm so it's an apache thing then
  106. lovetox ask in the prosody channel they know what to do and where
  107. yaomtc thanks
  108. lovetox Link Mauve, i can reproduce the problem on
  109. lovetox im locked out of my account..
  110. Link Mauve Which one?
  111. Link Mauve Oh. :x
  112. lovetox the auth one..
  113. Link Mauve Do you have any idea how to debug that?
  114. lovetox hm i guess you cant read my password from the server
  115. lovetox ..
  116. lovetox so hard to debug now
  117. lovetox hm or is it stored in plaintext?
  118. lovetox it says the sasl response is false
  119. lovetox i redid the sasl code in nbxmpp, but it works on many servers, i dont see how it can fail only on prosody
  120. lovetox ah wait i know how i can test this
  121. Link Mauve lovetox, I only know the SCRAM server half.
  122. lovetox no it has nothing to do with SCRAM
  123. lovetox i just tried PLAIN, and it also doesnt work
  124. lovetox can it be that you lost the password on restart?
  125. lovetox can you check what pass hash or however this is stored, on my account?
  126. Link Mauve lovetox, I mean, what I have stored on the server is SCRAM data, when you connect using PLAIN the server does the client part of SCRAM to test whether the password is correct.
  127. Link Mauve lovetox, yes, the hash, salt and iteration count are what is stored.
  128. lovetox actually can you just rest my password, i really dont want to debug this now
  129. lovetox ah wait
  130. lovetox seems i just used the wrong password
  131. lovetox wow
  132. Ben 🙈
  133. lovetox you know often the easiest reason is the right one :D
  134. Link Mauve ^^'
  135. Link Mauve That’s also what I suspected with this user from yesterday.
  136. lovetox mrDoctorWho, i can reproduce the problem
  137. lovetox i will look into it
  138. lovetox mrDoctorWho, the problem is indeed in the refactored carbon code
  139. lovetox nico, ^ i think you were seeing the same issue
