  7. ifm25528 Hello, I would like to set a proxy for Gajim. How do I do this correctly? When I disconnect from VPN I can still use Gajim as normal, this should not happen
  8. bot Daniel Brötzmann modified an issue in _gajim_ < https://dev.gajim.org/gajim/gajim/issues/9422 >: #9422: < Doubleclicking a participant in a non-anonymous MUC should open 1:1 chat (instead of private message) >
  9. lovetox Gajim -> Accounts -> Connection -> Proxy
  10. lovetox beware though only xmpp traffic is proxied
  11. lovetox Gajim sometimes requests http links, for filetransfers, and these are not routed through this proxy
  12. lovetox also dns requests are not routed through this proxy
  13. ifm25528 That seems to work now. I get an error sometimes, "Run out of hosts"?
  14. ifm25528 Are there plans to fix the above problems?
  15. lovetox maybe search the issue tracker, could be that this problem is reported
  16. lovetox and chances are slim that these problems getting fixed
  17. lovetox its not possible to proxy dns requests with python without doing some crazy workarounds
  18. ifm25528 I did not see it on the issue tracker. Okay. You seemed to have fixed my issue. The refusal to connect when the VPN is down is sufficient for me. Thank you

  20. Stephen Hi everyone
  21. Stephen Is there a fork of Gajim that's simplified? My friends are nontechnical and I worry they'll find the registration too complicated
  22. Stephen The main thing I was hoping for would be to get rid of the domain box and have it hardcoded internally to my server
  23. Stephen If not I don't mind doing it myself, just don't want to reinvent the wheel
  24. lovetox no there is no fork
  25. Stephen lovetox, good to know. I will fork it then, thanks
