  1. Link Mauve lovetox: I’m pretty sure 76333ec73a4453f6ce33d006e711f302d4b2fe8e doesn’t do what you think it does; what you should actually do is to convert the keys into a list before iterating on it, because keys are a simple view on the actual data otherwise, and will change with a deletion.
  2. lovetox Link Mauve, from the documentation: This method returns a list of all the available keys in the dictionary.
  3. lovetox hm damn, they changed that in python3
  4. lovetox you are right, thanks

  6. concerto lovetox: say, even if Gajim can't have chat markers just yet, can't it atleast show those messages as read which have been read on other clients?
  7. lovetox what is the difference?
  8. lovetox if you read something or someone else read something is the same thing
  9. concerto lovetox: I figured, to display an "X has read until here" chat marker would require more work, as opposed to simply removing the new message notification once you know the user has read it on another client.
  10. concerto lovetox: I figured, to display an "X has read until here" chat marker would require more work, as opposed to simply removing the new message indication once you know the user has read it on another client.
  11. concerto lovetox: I figured displaying an "X has read until here" chat marker would require more work, as opposed to simply removing the new message indication once you know the user has read it on another client.
  12. lovetox oh thats what you mean
  13. lovetox yes this should be easier
  14. concerto Yeah. :) Chat markers in general are a nice-to-have luxury, but showing messages as unread even after the user has read them on another client is an annoyance ;)

  21. lovetox Link Mauve, do you maybe know, if i click a tray icon, or lets say a application is minimized some way, and you maximize it, does the window manager take care to maximize it on the correct workspace/virtual desktop, dont know how this is called
  22. Link Mauve lovetox, I haven’t used a tray icon or a list of windows in many years, sorry. :/
  23. Link Mauve This probably depends on the DE you are using.
  24. lovetox but i guess the its a task of the DE, they cant think all application will add code to move windows between workspaces
  25. Link Mauve Wayland compositors at least don’t let clients know their location, so they are in charge of restoring a minimised window at its previous location.
  26. Link Mauve Err, when you say “maximize”, do you mean “unminimise”/“restore” or actual “maximise”?
  27. lovetox restore
  28. Link Mauve Because (again at least on Wayland) these are two different concepts.
  29. lovetox yes its also on windows something different
  30. Link Mauve Ok, then in most (all?) cases it’s the compositor’s role.
  31. lovetox i mean restore from hidden
  32. Link Mauve From minimised* right?
  33. Link Mauve Hidden is yet another concept.
  34. lovetox but for restoring its the same
  35. lovetox window is not there, then it comes up
  36. Link Mauve On Wayland you achieve that by destroying the surface, but since it is the object containing all the state, the compositor will then recreate it at an undefined location.

  48. meaz n a server that doesn't belong to me but which is using latest trunk and mod_profile, I get this in Gajim logs "gajim.c.m.vcard Request: room@chat.server.com/user, expected sha: None" What can the sha: None means?
  49. lovetox means the user advertised no sha
  50. lovetox normally when we download a photo we compare it to the sha that the user advertised
  51. lovetox so the only info you can get from that is, if the user has a avatar published, the server is not advertising it to us
