Gajim - 2018-08-25

  1. Daniel lovetox, what was the line for log redirection to file for gajim on windows? I'd like ti add that to the wiki
  2. lovetox gajim-debug.exe > "C:\temp\gajim-debug.log" 2>&1
  3. lovetox works only with gajim.debug.exe
  4. Daniel Thank you!

  8. marmistrz With the current gajim design, would it be difficult queue all the messages which can't be sent straightaway?
  9. marmistrz *to queue the messages
  10. marmistrz I could possibly contribute it in October.
  11. marmistrz Alternatively, I could add some support for recognizing _which key sent which message_ under OMEMO
  12. asterix Queued and kept in mem? And if Gajim is closed before they are sent?
  13. marmistrz asterix, queued, kept in mem+serialized on quit
  14. marmistrz but for the PoC they could be kept in mem and produce a warning on quit
  15. marmistrz second stage: kept in mem + serialized straightaway/on quit
  16. bot Daniel Brötzmann modified an issue in _gajim_ < https://dev.gajim.org/gajim/gajim/issues/9310 >: #9310: < gajim-nightly on debian stretch crashes on startup >
  17. nico I have a problem with my gajim on windows. I just found out that the omemo plugin report no valid session Bad Mac and I dont know how to fix this.
  18. nico nvm I found the solution 🙂
  19. andrey.g marmistrz, your enhancement proposal to take care of non-yet-successufully-sent messages seems to address a problem described in https://dev.gajim.org/gajim/gajim/issues/8746
  20. asterix But if you want to omemo encrypt, you have to know to whuch device you send, no? So you can't do that while you are offline, no?
  21. Link Mauve asterix, OMEMO sends to a list of devices, which are known even when they are offline.
  22. Link Mauve Oh, or maybe you don’t cache them locally like the rest of the roster information?
  23. asterix Ok then, so it's possible. But the UI is not easy to see message in the queue, ability to cancel them, ...
  24. asterix I don't know how omemo does that
  25. Link Mauve OMEMO is just a protocol, it doesn’t enforce any UI.
  26. asterix No, qhat I said for UI is notrelated to OMEMO
  27. lovetox this just makes everything complicated as fuck, and what gain do we have from that?
