  5. bluemoon hi opal
  6. bluemoon ewww opal conversations on android is very insecure
  7. bluemoon opal fix that asap
  8. opal yo bluemoon heres a novel idea: dont version people out of the blue and talk about irrelevant shit when they came here to ask questions about gajim
  9. bluemoon opal i was concerned about you because you sound so noobish
  10. opal ignore the pm i mistyped
  11. opal pretend i sent it to the channel
  12. bluemoon wow you are trying to get more personal with me huh
  13. opal point is i dont give a fuck about you if youre just going to be a troll
  14. opal so tell me now so i can ignore you
  15. opal i thought this room was for gajim, not for jerking it
  16. opal guess i was wrong?
  17. lovetox opal Prefernces -> first site bottom one of the 5 checkboxes, dont know the exact wording
  18. bluemoon opal who is jerking?
  19. bluemoon thanks lovetox I was just about to help opal out poor thing is such a noob
  20. opal lovetox: thanks ill check that out in a bit, just woke up
  21. bluemoon it takes a like a second to look jeeez
  22. opal ok our friend bluemoon should be blocked
  23. opal i must be a noob, right? there's no UI to block people in MUCs but i did it anyway
  24. opal now let me check preferences
  25. opal oh, "notify by icon when messages are received", thanks lovetox
  26. opal i was looking for some other wording so that went over my head
  27. opal must mean im a noob, right? /s
  28. lovetox yeah its pretty old wording, nowadays we would use something with "Receipt" in it
  29. opal now the only other question i have is the just connected / just disconnected background flashes in roster
  30. opal i know how to change the colours but i dont see an option to outright disable it from happening
  31. opal because i really show no interest in who just connected; it's too distracting for me when i have the gajim window to the side while i'm doing something else
  32. asterix I don't think thus can be disabled. But if you set the same color as your roster color, that should do it

  36. mrDoctorWho Oh come on guys loading 2 months of groupchat history is insane
  37. opal lol
  38. bot Philipp Hörist closed an issue in _gajim_ < https://dev.gajim.org/gajim/gajim/issues/9206 >: #9206: < auto bug report >
  39. mrDoctorWho 1 month to go
  40. Daniel mrDoctorWho, that's a known inconvenience and on the list
  41. mrDoctorWho Finally. So could anyone please add PIL to the flatpak package?
  42. mrDoctorWho flatpak installation*
  43. Daniel PIL is on eof the plugin dependencies, right? That's also on the list
  44. mrDoctorWho Yes
  45. Daniel In the future this should be handled by flatpak addons (providing the plugin and its dependencies) so that the pure gajim install has a smaller footprint
  46. Daniel Just look for flatpak on the issue tracker and you'll see the issue and several MRs
  47. marmistrz I get a file not found error while uploading files with special characters inside, e.g.
  48. marmistrz https://upload.wiuwiu.de/upload/XZqw88ZZEBcsne3r/Screenshot%2520from%25202018-06-21%252011-47-45.png
  49. marmistrz (the same with encrypted)
  50. marmistrz should I contact the admin or is it the client's fault?
  51. Daniel Do you use a current gajim git master or 1.0.3?
  52. Daniel There were some fixes regarding file nane encoding in http_upload.
  53. bluemoon lovetox any due date when 1.0.3 will be on flatpak?
  54. bluemoon i think the current version is 1.0.2
  55. marmistrz Daniel, 1.0.3+71a6a4edb176
  56. marmistrz from the Arch repos
  57. lovetox the httpupload fix is not in 1.0.3
  58. lovetox rename the file to something without spaces then it works
  59. lovetox i think we will release 1.1 in the next weeks so flatpak will jump to that instead of 1.0.3
  60. bot Roland Häder created an issue in _gajim_ < https://dev.gajim.org/gajim/gajim/issues/9207 >: #9207: < Connection lost throws exception >
  61. bluemoon thats cool
  62. bluemoon was curious
  63. bluemoon lovetox does the global proxy override the individual proxies if they are not set? I have global set to tor and was not sure if the indidivual need to be set to tor as well?
  64. lovetox im not sure have to check the code when im at home
  65. lovetox its could be that it is a default value for new accs that are created
  66. bluemoon i understand.. I see wasnt sure what the global meant
  67. reyhan is there a way to verify the windows installers integrity after download? (asking for a friend...)
  68. lovetox you mean for security purposes? because otherwise if the installer runs the file is fine
  69. bot kelly grant created an issue in _gajim_ < https://dev.gajim.org/gajim/gajim/issues/9208 >: #9208: < The software reported a bug >
  70. debacle qhubekela, lovetox, about the incompatibility between Gajim and gir1.2-farstream-0.2 : I feel uneasy about just adding conflict. If a user needs farstream for something else than Gajim, this is inconvenient. IMHO, this should be fixed in Gajim.
  71. andrey.g debacle‎, I'm on Debian Testing amd64, no crashes with farstream.
  72. debacle andrey.g for me neither, I believe it depends on Gajim config option(s)
  73. lovetox why do you think that?
  74. lovetox its a farstream segfault
  75. lovetox in my humble opinion thats always a farstream bug
  76. lovetox it does not matter what gajim calls in the farstream lib, it should never segfault
  77. andrey.g https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gajim/+bug/1777546
  78. andrey.g Could this warning be caught in Gajim?..
  79. lovetox why would we catch a warning?
  80. lovetox if a log message is put out whatever happend has already happend
  81. lovetox and segfaults are not exceptions that can be catched
  82. lovetox it just kills the application
  83. andrey.g Perhaps session is not really created?
  84. andrey.g We had already similar with pulseaudio. Ignoring something at the beginning resulted in a segfault later.
  85. lovetox which is also a pulseaudio bug
  86. lovetox it just happend so that we could work around it
  87. andrey.g Well, yes, missing NULL-checks.
  88. andrey.g Maybe for some reason "Farstream.MediaType.AUDIO" could not be resolved?..
  89. lovetox maybe they removed whatever that is
  90. lovetox i have to check
  91. lovetox with video not working anyway we could remove that session test
  92. lovetox for now
  93. lovetox https://lazka.github.io/pgi-docs/#Farstream-0.2/classes/Conference.html#Farstream.Conference.new_session
  94. lovetox we definitly use this method the way it is documented
  95. lovetox we call a method with a single enum value
  96. lovetox if this crashes farstream this should be reported, this is the most basic shit
  97. debacle true. maybe the #farstream channel on freenode should be consulted?
  98. bot Daniel modified an issue in _gajim_ < https://dev.gajim.org/gajim/gajim/issues/9207 >: #9207: < Connection lost throws exception >
  99. bot Daniel modified an issue in _gajim_ < https://dev.gajim.org/gajim/gajim/issues/9208 >: #9208: < The software reported a bug >
  100. lovetox someone in farstream channel said it maybe has to do with the gstreamer-plugins-good version or gstreamer1.0-plugins-base
  101. lovetox debian has a newer version for these in testing and unstable, and a much older version in stable
  102. lovetox which maybe is the reason why i dont experience this
  103. andrey.g According to Dependencies.txt in the Ubuntu bug report it was the recent 1.14.0 version. Notably the reporter used i386.
  104. reyhan lovetox yes, i was talking about security purposes, i.e. if there is a way to ensure the file has not purposely been tempered.
