  6. marmistrz lovetox: I'd place them in both places :) Thanks for the hint about starting them minimized.:) I assume that if they're minimized, gajim won't download all the avatars, etc.?
  7. lovetox there is no difference except that it is minimized
  8. lovetox and avatars are cached, so a avatar is only loaded once anyway

  22. Link Mauve How automated is the release process nowadays?
  23. lovetox could be more, but its not bad, we have to wait until nighltys build themself and copy them over to stable tomorrow, or asterix can initiate a build right now
  24. lovetox asterix uploads nbxmpp to pip also manualy i think
  25. lovetox and debacle is this for real, there is again a new indicator lib ^^
  26. Daniel But the indicator proposal sounds nice (to my eyes)
  27. lovetox yeah but some distris will only have the old again
  28. lovetox and other the new
  29. debacle The patch does "try import", so in theory it should not break old distros.
  30. lovetox it switches to the new lib
  31. lovetox this is maybe not a problem for people depending on debian repos
  32. lovetox is appindicator debian only?

  34. lovetox there debacle
  35. lovetox Link Mauve, if i have a PKGBUILD file
  36. lovetox how to execute it with pacman?
  37. Link Mauve You first build it with `makepkg`, and then install it with `pacman -U`.
  38. Link Mauve You first build it with `makepkg`, and then install it with `pacman -U the-generated.pkg.tar.xz`.
  39. Link Mauve Or you combine both in one operation with `makepkg -i`.
  40. lovetox nice thanks
  41. Link Mauve The PKGBUILD only describes how to build the package.

  44. mimi89999 How to set a MUC avatar in Gajim?
  45. debacle mimi89999 it's only in Gajim master, not in 1.0.2 and there it's under "manage room" (where you set the subject etc.)
  46. mimi89999 Found it.
  47. Maranda lovetox, windows builds still borken?
  48. Daniel Commits say it's fixed. Guess you have to wait until tomorrow
  49. debacle lovetox, thanks for the appindicator release! Goes into Debian now.
  50. jubalh oh so gajim has muc avatar setting now? splendid
  51. jubalh sems 1.0.3 came out today, so in it we have this muc avatar thing already i guess?
  52. lovetox no
  53. lovetox minor version contain only bugfixes
  54. jubalh alright
  55. jubalh lovetox, i take it 1.0.3 is not yet released just tagged? just saw that there is not yet a tarball at the usual location :)
  56. lovetox asterix, will do that once he has time
  57. asterix Probably this evening
  58. jubalh ok

  62. marmistrz lovetox, and is it possible to customize Gajim's markup?
  63. marmistrz I'm using the Conversations dialect (which seems to be some markdown flavor, while Gajim's default markup is something homebrew AFAIK), so I'd like to change it so adhere to the markdown flavor used by Conversations
  64. lovetox marmistrz, there are many markdown flavors, and also other markdown like formattings, Gajim exists for more than a decade and we use this kind of formatting for a long time. Of course im not against updating something for good reasons, but you didnt mention one until now. Conversations is not the only other xmpp client, there are many out there, and if we change syntax now, in some time other people maybe complain because it doesnt fit their needs anymore
  65. marmistrz lovetox: I rather mean _if there's no consensus, let's just make it configurable_. If there's no such configurability, I can contribute it at the beginning of July. :)
  66. marmistrz I'm fine with keeping the current syntax as the default
  67. marmistrz I know there are multiple markdown flavors, I'm sometimes mixim'em up :D
  68. Link Mauve marmistrz, lovetox, there is a standard, and it is XHTML-IM.
  69. Link Mauve Add support for that to Conversations instead.
  70. Link Mauve That way every client displays and exchanges the same thing, and the input markup doesn’t matter anymore.
  71. bot Yann Leboulanger pushed 1 commit to branch _refs/heads/master_ of _website_ < https://dev.gajim.org/gajim/website >: *350d6fd8* < https://dev.gajim.org/gajim/website/commit/350d6fd84b559fd3071c19f1274c44d85c794670 > add flathub link
  72. marmistrz testing.... /usr/
  73. marmistrz Link Mauve, Conversations has a valid reason for not using XHTML IM:
  74. marmistrz ‎[22:40:25] ‎iNPUTmice‎: marmistrz: you might want to Google efail and the two latest signal desktop vulnerabilities
  75. Link Mauve That’s not a reason, no one needs a full XHTML parser for that, only to implement a few elements.
  76. marmistrz testing.... /usr/bin/local/
  77. Link Mauve I implemented one in about 500 lines of Python, I’m sure that can be done as easily in Java.
  78. marmistrz Link Mauve, this would not be an implementation of XEP-0071, since the XEP clearly mentions img tags
  79. Link Mauve marmistrz, note that this XEP is defined as modules, you can choose not to support the Image Module Definition if you don’t want it.
