  1. Daniel
  2. Daniel added some margins and drop shadow to preview.. any thoughts?
  3. SaltyBones that is very subtle
  4. Daniel a little margin never hurts :) drop shadow depends on image content.. on brighter images its more visible
  5. SouL Is that font the desired one?
  6. Daniel systems default
  7. SaltyBones I think it looks nice and you should add it.
  8. SaltyBones Maybe even try more margin on the left to make it look more in line with text?
  9. Daniel yeah I tried that but thats problematic with older messages being printed in smaller font size
  10. Daniel it almost never aligns correctly
  11. Daniel also, you could have different settings for time display
  12. SaltyBones So, of course it will probably be possible to figure that out somehow....
  13. SaltyBones But I agree, don't put too much effort in it. It looks better, so go for it! :)
  14. Daniel thanks! concerning the effort, I think it's worth waiting for the conversation view redesign
  15. SaltyBones Daniel, oooooh
  16. SaltyBones is that planned?
  17. Daniel thought I heard that somewhere, would be nice!
  18. SaltyBones Is history not stored locally?
  19. Daniel you can set that per account
  20. SaltyBones Really? How?
  21. Daniel click accounts > your account >general > save conversations for all contacts
  22. SaltyBones well
  23. SaltyBones I definitely get history
  24. SaltyBones I just can't find it in my config dir. :)
  25. SaltyBones Also, I cannot go there it doesn't exist in master. ;)
  26. Daniel what do you mean, it does not exist? you sure can click your account name in accounts window, can't you?
  27. Daniel logs aren't stored in config dir. on linux you can find them in ~/.local/share/gajim
  28. SaltyBones Daniel, yeah, I can click on the account but that setting is not there
  29. SaltyBones but thanks for the dir, that's what I needed
  30. SaltyBones of course now I wonder what happens if I use a different config dir and different profile
  31. SaltyBones I think it is a bit confusing what ends up where
  32. Daniel here you go
  33. SaltyBones Daniel, oh wow
  34. SaltyBones didn't know that was in there
  35. SaltyBones hm $XDG_DATA_DIR is not set here
  36. SaltyBones

  38. bot Philipp Hörist merged a merge request for _gajim/master_ < >: Add navigation for chat history
  39. mdosch I switched from the gajim repo to the debian unstable package and I got a message that emoji are not available although I have fonts-noto-color-emoji installed.

  41. bot Philipp Hörist closed an issue in _gajim_ < >: #8887: < Update via APT: "plugin incompatible with current version" >
  42. lovetox mdosch how does that message look like
  43. lovetox did you set font emoticons in the preferences?
  44. mdosch lovetox, hmm i can't exactly recall
  45. mdosch lovetox, no I didn't do anything in the settings. The gajim-default-nightly from your own repo I used earlier 'just worked'.
  46. lovetox because you didnt use font emoticons
  47. lovetox and debian doesnt ship the non-font ones
  48. lovetox but the default setting is to use not font
  49. lovetox so you have to switch to font in the preferences
  50. mdosch So i set the noto font and see
  51. mdosch Set as normal font for message window?
  52. mdosch looks awkward. I'll search the settings editor
  53. lovetox mdosch no
  54. lovetox Preference -> Emoticons -> font emoticons
  55. mdosch Hmm, there is only deactivated or pidgin emoticons... :-/
  56. mdosch But I have the font installed
  57. fwhcat Hello, just installed 1.0 alpha 2, nice work there !
  58. fwhcat GTK3 conversion ?
  59. fwhcat hummm I guess it's "normal" that account's passwords have to be reentered ?
  60. lovetox hi, no its not normal
  61. lovetox if you click save password, the password should be stored either in your keyring or your config
  62. fwhcat but it was and it worked great, then I upgraded to 1.0alpha2 and It couldn't connect anymore I had to overwrite the saved password so it could connect.
  63. lovetox yeah but now its fine?
  64. SaltyBones I thought the password store changed..?
  65. SaltyBones So it is "normal" for this particular upgrade, right?
  66. lovetox once yes, as fwhcat didnt mention if this is a permanent probelm or it happend only once
  67. fwhcat no no it happened only once, sooo it's all right :)
  68. lovetox then its ok, as the the way how the password is stored in the keyring changed, so new gajim cant read old passwords

  93. lovetox Daniel, in which branch do you have these changes for url_image_preview?
  94. lovetox i like how it looks, depending on how you did that, i think we can push this, as the conversations view rework will need more time
  95. Maranda ohh commit storm :P
  96. Daniel lovetox, thanks! No branch yet, will push tomorrow
  97. debacle lovetox, we can drop gajim-httpupload in Debian now, right?
  98. lovetox yes
  99. debacle thx
  100. Darlan What is "gajim" and what is "gajim-default" at <>?
  101. Darlan gajim = gajim-0.16.9 gajim-default = gajim-0.98.3
  102. lovetox default=master
  103. lovetox its a remnant of hg calling there master branches default
  104. Darlan How do I build gajim-default/alpha using
  105. Darlan What I did so far, was: ./configure \ --prefix=/usr \ --libdir=/usr/lib${LIBDIRSUFFIX} \ --localstatedir=/var \ --sysconfdir=/etc \ --build=$arch-slackware-linux || return 1
  106. lovetox its described in the readme
  107. lovetox ./ install --root=/ or pip install . (python-pip is required)
  108. lovetox if you are on arch there is also a repo for git master in AUR
  109. lovetox -repo +package
  110. Darlan I use Slackware
  111. Darlan A file README should be included in the Tarball
  112. lovetox true, its missing thanks
  113. debacle the http-upload plugin had a configure option
  114. debacle is this still present somewhere in beta1?
  115. lovetox yes
  116. lovetox ACE
  117. lovetox debacle
  118. debacle where can I find it?
  119. lovetox what command do you execute to install gajim on debian?
  120. debacle "apt install gajim"
  121. lovetox yeah, but how does apt install gajim
  122. lovetox does it use
  123. lovetox or is this not needed
  124. debacle ah, yes, but not during install time, but during build time of the package
  125. debacle is not part of the .deb package
  126. lovetox so you build it then ship it
  127. debacle yes
  128. lovetox can i see the script that builds it somewhere?
  129. debacle Here: python3 build
  130. debacle That's it :~)
  131. lovetox hm seems to not work for Darlan on slackware
  132. lovetox i just wondered what you use
  133. lovetox ok im out of this discussion, i have no clue about linux stuff, Darlan open an issue about it if you dont make it work
  134. debacle It is part of the debian/rules file, so there are other things, e.g.
  135. debacle python3 config
  136. lovetox then somebody can help you
  137. debacle before the build
  138. debacle and after the build:
  139. debacle python3 install --install-layout=deb --root=$(CURDIR)/debian/gajim
  140. lovetox thanks debacle, as for the httpupload setting
  141. debacle but that's probably different for slackware
  142. lovetox its in advanced config editor
  143. debacle Ah, OK, I know that one :~)
  144. debacle it's per account now! nice!
  145. Darlan python3 install \ --root=$PKG || return 1 mkdir -p $PKG/usr/doc/$pkgname-$pkgver cp -r gajim.egg-info/* $PKG/usr/doc/$pkgname-$pkgver/
  146. Darlan Thanks.
