  2. concerto UI bug in Gajim master branch which I keep forgetting to report - Use "single window for everything" UI style Click the emoji menu button Point on an emoji which overlaps with the edges of the contacts pane and the chat area - the cursor changes into a resizing cursor (<->) The emojis on this position are tricky to insert.

  4. dwd Out of curiosity, does anyone know if the Jingle support in Gajim will interop with a WebRTC based endpoint?
  5. Link Mauve dwd, no, it won’t (yet).
  6. Link Mauve It’s missing a few bits in Gstreamer.
  7. dwd Link Mauve, Ah, OK. I wondered if that situation had changed in the intervening years.
  8. Link Mauve Sadly no. :(
  9. Link Mauve Some features such as DTLS-SRTP have been implemented in Gstreamer since then, but it isn’t fully WebRTC-conformant yet.
  10. dwd Right. Looks like all the bits are available but only as pay-for code.
  11. dwd Link Mauve, Oh, and I've got things working nicely alongside an installed Gajim, with: env PYTHONPATH=/home/dwd/src/python-nbxmpp/build/lib/:/home/dwd/src/gajim/build/lib/ ./build/scripts-3.5/gajim --profile=test
  12. Link Mauve dwd, oh, there is a paid version of Gstreamer now?
  13. Link Mauve dwd, sounds like the correct way to do it, I would just not use the `python setup.py build` step at all, and point PYTHONPATH two directories higher.
  14. Link Mauve cd /home/dwd/src/gajim; PYTHONPATH=/home/dwd/src/python-nbxmpp:. python -m gajim.gajim
  15. dwd Link Mauve, Lots of paid plugins for it all over the place.
  16. Link Mauve That way you just modify the files, then launch it again, without any build step.
  17. Link Mauve dwd, ugh…
  18. dwd Link Mauve, Quite.
  19. Link Mauve My company works on it, and most everything is upstreamed in the end.
  20. dwd Link Mauve, I'll try that now; I was concerned that "nbxmpp.XYZ" wouldn't get interpreted right, but the directory structure is still there, indeed.
  21. dwd Link Mauve, Which company? Collabora?
  22. Link Mauve Yes.
  23. dwd Link Mauve, Ah, I remember Rob starting that.
  24. Link Mauve (I’m on the graphics side, I only see Gstreamer work from afar.)
  25. vanitasvitae Hi! I just git pulled and it seems like the installation method of gajim has changed. I want gajim to be installed and look for plugins in /home/user/.local. What installation root do I have to pass the setup.py on installation?
  26. vanitasvitae */home/user/.local/share
  27. debacle Speaking of Jingle. I would love to have working Jingle in Gajim again, even w/o WebRTC compatibility. List week or so I tried with 0.16.11-master on Debian (testing + experimental), but it didn't work at all. Too bad :~(
  28. lovetox vanitasvitae, how to install is in the Readme
  29. lovetox and it has nothing changed where gajim looks for plugins
  30. lovetox you can pass whatever you want
  31. vanitasvitae Okay
  32. lovetox where you install doesnt change that gajim looks for plugins in */home/user/.local/share/gajim/plugins
  33. lovetox please tell if you experience problems :)
  34. vanitasvitae I get an exception on startup, but I'll try to fix it for myself for a few minutes :)
  35. vanitasvitae ah, now it works. I had to set the root parameter to /
  36. debacle Btw. The Python3/GTK3-Versions of Gajim and some of the plugins are now in Debian experimental. If you run Debian testing or unstable (maybe even stable works, I didn't try), you can add this line to your /etc/apt/sources.list: "deb http://ftp.de.debian.org/debian experimental main" and do a "sudo apt install -t experimental gajim gajim-antispam gajim-httpupload gajim-omemo" Works for me, but of course this is only for the adventurous.
  37. nico when will the gtk3 version hit the windows stable?
  38. Asterix When we have the roster bug fixed
  39. Link Mauve “12:27:52 debacle> Speaking of Jingle. I would love to have working Jingle in Gajim again, even w/o WebRTC compatibility. 40. debacle Link Mauve: If I remember correctly, I tried a video connection and there was only a distorted UI.
  41. debacle I'll try audio only ASAP (maybe tonight).
  42. vanitasvitae > When we have the roster bug fixed You mean contact names getting messed up?
  43. Asterix vanitasvitae: yes. Contact that don't appear correctly when they log in and completly mess up the roster until we show / hide offline contacts and/or double click roster row twice
  44. mimi89999 lovetox: I don't like the changed position of the fingerprint button...
  45. lovetox its just one step of the change, the button bar will go away
  46. mimi89999 lovetox: Don't scare me...
  47. lovetox it will look something like that

  49. mimi89999 Can't tell if I like it or not...
  50. lovetox do you love the buttons so much that you as good as never use but always see?
  51. mimi89999 Never used the style button as not many clients support that.
  52. mimi89999 Frequently using the file upload button tho
  53. mimi89999 Checking not that rarely history...
  54. lovetox file upload button is a plugin, i still have to think where they go
  55. lovetox history is one click away in the menu top left
  56. lovetox https://share.hoerist.com/philipp/1Geh76YsRwMhtX52/Unbenannt.PNG
  57. mimi89999 But it looks much cleaner and that is a big plus...
  58. mimi89999 I will wait and see...
  59. lovetox yeah much less space wasted
